LOOK, dude, I've never been able to really get into Parks and Recreation, and I almost never read explicit fic even for characters that I'm intensely emotionally invested in... and yet I read this whole thing and thought the writing was fabulous. So shut. up. :P

(I mean to come back later and note some of the prose that I loved; I just need to Get Some Shit Done first.)

Thaaaaank you. :) Seriously, honey, thank you. I'm usually not too worried about putting my stuff out there, but, urgh, this one, total neurosis, I had to really push myself into posting it and not just going ctrl-alt-del!

Things!

Actually, April is beautiful and Leslie loves her, and Ben is just making her think mean things, like some sort of cynical-awful-jerk spiral of negativity.

Dawww, this is such great Leslie-voice.

something sharp and glittering, like the mess of a fist through a window.

I FUCKING LOVE THIS LINE, how it's so controlled and precise and yet so intense. (And it reminds me, a bit, of traumatized Josh in The West Wing putting his fist through a window.)

And, whoa, she just threw him down on the couch like he was a ragdoll, and there's a part of her mind left over from before the wine and the anger and everything else that's roaring through her ears right now, asking her in a pointed tone what exactly he thought he was consenting to a second ago

yesss. You do such a good job with this kind of second-guessing and negotiation.

He's still looking fogged, as though his mind is, not elsewhere, but right here, incapable of anything but sharing precisely the same space as his body

<3 <3 <3 PERFECT.

Leslie isn't thinking clearly ( ... )

Oh yoooou. I am so tired and done-in right now I can't like do words or anything, but this comment was kind of what my heart needed. I love you a lot. Also, I have been thinking about "Noel" recently - the other day I was listening to the carol-singers at King's Cross while there were sirens in the background, it's funny what brings it back - and it always makes me think of you and our very shared taste in fiction. <3 <3
