Oh, Jack, Jack, Jack. I mean, I don't blame him entirely because he wasn't leader then and he's had to sacrifice people (including himself) before, but yeah. I don't really think he's a bastard, and it's not like he was proud of what he did. I'm looking forward to seeing the repurcussions of what he did. I hope there was a good explanation.

Now I've got that out the way, I'll try and start vaguely at the beginning.

The warehouse in London looked exactly the same as the one where Jack and Ianto caught Myfanwy (poor Myfanwy, she better not be dead). And the one where Jack, Martha and the Doctor hung out when they were on the run from the Master. I really liked how Ianto was just sitting still in the chair while Jack accidentally spilled how he knew about Gwen's baby - his worried face makes me want to squish him. I wasn't keen on the Torchwood gang becoming thieves, but I especially liked Jack stealing the car xD. I loved Rhys' painted 'Hub 2', and his refusal to become a member of the team. I thought that said a lot about him. Ianto asking about what it was like for Jack was really good too, you could feel his pain when Jack said it hurt. Ianto talking about Jack living on after he's died (of old age) was heartbreaking. I suspected that Jack had something to do with the children in 1965 when he got all mad and snappish at those pictures and disappeared off without a word. Oh, and I forgot to mention: loved Ianto getting clothes for everyone. His dad was a master tailor, of course, so he can judge people's sizes well, and YES HE GOT A GREATCOAT! And I loved "I have missed that coat". xD I knew there was coat!sex!! And omg, contact lense!sex too. Ahah, they're really playing to the fangirls and boys now. xD

Ummm...I really like Clem, and Ianto's reaction to Clem calling him 'queer'. PC ANDY LOVE! I think that Lois has just the right amount of being too scared, but I'm glad that she helped them out in the end. If she survives (which I'm suspecting might not happen), she'd make a great additional member. Rhiannon and the kids was just funny xD. I liked Alice more this time, especially with the gun and knife thing. Her kid is so creepy though, even when he's not possessed.

Peter Capaldi was just amazing in the first scene with the 456. Really, just wow. Um, what else, what else. Gwen is so good with Clem, she really is. Ianto can read shorthand XD.

Jack looked really good with his hair slicked up and his coat done up like that xD. But I'm pretty sure that they won't be able to do the sacrifice thing this time - and 10% of the world's children? That's not just 12 kids, that's like....millions, maybe more. Ianto's look of betrayal as Jack explains what he did.

The little bit of building where Frobisher runs up into the lift to Level 13 looked exactly the same as the bit of warehouse where that guy lived in Out of the Rain. They kind of failed at the reusing of locations in this one. I mean, in the other warehouse, the one they were hiding out in in London, my first thought was "aw, Ianto's taken them back to where they've caught Myfanwy" before realising that it's supposed to be a different city.

I maintain that the first episode was the best so far, but wow. This is exactly what I've been waiting for since the slight dodginess that was series one.

Edit: And I forgot to say. I am so annoyed with the 'news' on the TVs that seem to turn up in pretty much any Doctor Who/Torchwood episode that's sent on present-day Earth. I mean, yeah, it was good in Aliens of London. But now it's just old, and annoying, and doesn't add anything to the story except linking people together because they're watching the same news programme.

tv show: torchwood, ramblings
