5 things that I want to do before I die?

1: Write a fantasy/sci-fi novel that is good enough to be published.
I want to be a writer. I have wanted to be a writer ever since I was 9. Ever since I started reading Animorphs by K.A.Applegate. Although, ironically, the writer that originally made me want to be a writer is now one of my least favorite writers ever because of her strange tendency to leave her readers with ridiculous cliffhanger endings. Seriously?!?! It's been 5 years and over 60 fucking books and you leave me with a cliffhanger?!?!? Fuck you, Katherine! ......but I digress... I want to be a writer.

2: Ride a bicycle in the Tour de France.
This is one of my more strange dreams. I'm a fan of France and the french language. I've also always been a big fan of bicycling. The Tour de France ties both loves into one. I don't ever expect to win it, of course. Just riding in it would be more than enough for me.

3: Become a father.
This is one of my oldest dreams. I've wanted to be a daddy ever since I was little. I think it may mainly be because I never grew up with a dad. Or maybe the paternal part of me is just very strong and yearning for a chance to exercise.

4: Make sure my family is financially taken care of.
This isn't so much a dream as it is just something that I hope that I do before I die. I never would want to leave my family with debt. I would want to make sure that not only are my debts taken care of, but they have less stress in their own lives after I go.

5: Understand the mysteries of the universe./Discover a new invention that can progress the state of the world's technology.
This is a bit of a grandiose dream, but it's something I really would like to do. I'm really interested in physics and astronomy and I wish that the present were more like the future of 40 years ago. Colonies on the moon and other planets, flying cars, etc. It frustrates me that the society we live in lets morals make them paranoid about progress. I believe we could have lot higher technology if people were less close-minded.
