Not a photo post today, surprisingly.
Just thought I should do some writing in here now and then, so I don't forget how to do it. The end of semester is coming up surprisingly quickly. It's also less than a month till J arrives, which also means it's less than a month before exams.
What have I been up to? Mainly work and uni, really. Been working lots, and as always, been injuring myself lots.
I burned myself on something on Monday, I don't even know what for certain. It was just a crazy Monday morning shift, made crazier by the fact that the computers crashed before I got there, and the espresso bar had blocked tubing so was dripping all over the place (and had to be pulled apart for a while by the manager, as I continued trying to make drinks around him). So the burn was inevitable, I guess. Just one of those days.
But I had to fill in an "incident report" form, just in case my hand (or a chunk of my arm) ends up dropping off suddenly, I suppose. It's pretty small, but it's getting itchy and looks like it's considering flaking off. (The burn itself, that is, not my hand.)
Anyone who knows me well just rolls their eyes a little when I announce my newest injury to them. I don't get the gasps and solicitous care I am craving!
I also worked Tuesday night, but surprisingly enough I did manage to get through the shift without a major accident. (I have several near misses most of the time, considering I move too quietly for the manager to hear me walking around behind him.) The manager also asked about me wanting to take up a shift supervisor role, which is pretty exciting. My first promotion! Should know for certain about it by the end of June or so, he said. It'll mean a pay rise, and a few more hours per week, but I think I can take it.
It's nice to be acknowledged, really. And I do feel that they're willing to do this because I've grown up a bit changed a lot while I was away from work. So I'm feeling good.
I am also still sick. It's a little frustrating when my voice vanishes at work, but oh well. Though I've been working more, I haven't cut down on more sociable activities (which I had been a little worried about initially). So I'm not at home so much and I haven't really given myself time to recover properly. So if I get pneumonia you all know how it happened.
This Saturday is a 21st party, and I even got someone else to take my Sunday shift so I can have a bit of fun that night. It should be interesting, in any case. I plan on taking many photos.
I think that's about it.
