Friday night, I half-dozed through the first half of Fringe's One Night in October, and I realized something I never fully noticed before: When I'm focussed on just listening to the show, Altlivia's voice is subtly different from Olivia's. (I'm highly visual, so the nuances of aural details often escape me.) It's a touch lower, a little more ( Read more... )

I also thought it was pretty neat that WH13 had a Christmas (Winter holiday? Wasn't there a dradle?) aisle.

D'oh, I missed that Stephen King reference. Off I go to add it to the HPLibrary.

I believe its official name was the Aisle of Noël. Though I'm not sure if that explains the existence of the dreidel? (I am currently watching a Simpsons episode in which Krusty -- Jewish -- is Santa Claus. Interesting timing.)

I can't believe you missed the King reference!

Silent Night has apparently kicked off a Haven weekend. I'm already wishing S2 were available on DVD. :)

Yeah, it's been about that long since I last tried one of his books (Nightmares and Dreamscapes, IIRC). Under the Dome is my dad's; he lent it to me over the summer. I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I think I like Bis Repetita better than Resurfacing, but other than that I pretty much prefer the English titles. (L'Ombre qui tue has the same problem as Vampires in that it gives away the killer before you've even seen anything. Though, granted, it is not nearly so big a giveaway as Sleepers.)

It's just interesting to see the differences.
