Hmm. I guess I should catch up on that TV meme ... later.
I've gotten back into "Blake's 7" (more than halfway through season 2 now), and have compiled the following drinking game based on things that won't stop happening:
- they run into someone from someone in the crew's Past ...
- and they're betrayed by them
- and they're being used as bait by Travis and/or Servalan
- and they kill them
- spazzy running
- the computers go all K-9 ("insufficient data!")
- Avon is dressed ...
- like a one-man leather pride parade
- like a futuristic prostitute (he wears hooker boots)
- anyone's dressed like a Ren Faire in space
- someone is dressed so badly that people on Dr Who would laugh at them
- Servalan's dressed like Princess Leia
- someone was on Dr Who
- Cally's mind powers show up ...
- and are useful
- and are forgotten about when they WOULD be useful
- and result in her getting possessed
- possibly in reaction to that last point, Cally's the only one directly banned from going on an away mission even though she's the only one who actually wants to
- take a drink when Vila does
- Avon zings someone
- Avon says some zing-shaped nonsense (my favorite example of this is the "justify, stupid!" line. I don't know what the hell he's talking about, but he practically throws himself across the console in his eagerness to say it)
- Travis is about to kill Blake and etc ...
- and is stopped at the very last instant by circumstance
- and Blake refuses to kill Travis, even though he really should at this point. You're not Batman, Blake, I know you kill people. Stop "leaving him to the Federation", that hasn't worked and it's not about to start.
- guest stars of the week are offered a ride, but opt to remain embedded in horror ...
- but Blake will totally be back to check on them. Really.
- and die horribly
- it has a "rocks fall, everyone not listed in the opening credits dies" ending
- plus someone from the opening credits dies, too
- it has a Star Trekkish "twinkly music, everyone laughs at a terrible joke" ending ...
- and the terrible joke is "lol, Vila is dumb"
- and the terrible joke is "lol, Avon's a freak"
