The Petrellis
- they worked in the season one footage nicely. everytime they give Peter his season one hair back it looks really fake, though.
- I liked season one Peter so much more than now Peter. he was never my favorite, but I didn't want to slap his slanty face everytime he appeared. and Nathan always looked mighty fine in his suits. mm hmm.
- I'm sure the Nathan/Peter fans were pleased by all the hugging and touching and close talking in this episode. le sigh.
- does anyone else think this show would be way better if it took place maybe 20 years back? the older generation of "heroes" (is there a fanon name for them, BTW?) are just a lot more interesting with all their schemes and murdering. less saving the world, more blowing it up and plots and backstabs
- is there any guy in the Old School Heroes who wasn't either banging Angela Petrelli or thinking about it? srsly.
- I'm confused though ... sans Nathan, what exactly was supposed to happen in Plan New York? were they going to use Peter instead, or maybe Arthur and Linderman? or were they just going to blow up New York for fun?
- Arthur setting up Nathan's car accident was interesting, and OMG - they remembered that Nathan has a wife! seriously, did he get Haitianed while he was in the hospital at the beginning of the season?
- the stuff with Arthur pushing the memories out of Angela's head makes the stuff in the pilot about "now that Dad's dead, Mom can speak her mind" make more sense, because up until now, that really hasn't been a problem for Angela. Angela=evil Sandra? actually, those are two characters I'd be interested to see interact
- lol, potpie. does anyone else have a problem with not being able to not think of Cartman yelling at his cat when they mention potpie?
- Angela and her wacky poisoning ways continues to really really make me think of Livia in "I, Clavdivs".
- OMG ... Angela/Haitian?
- so ... I'm assuming the only power Arthur can access while in his coma is the telepathy? (which also explains why he just bitchslapped Papa Parkman to death without sucking out his power. though didn't he want Matt's power, too? whatever). wait ... what other powers did we see him use before the coma, was that all he had besides his own Rogue thing?
Meredith and Thompson
- this stuff felt kind of like an afterthought, but it was still interesting, and it makes some of the things they've done with her pull together better. and Meredith causing the fire/trainwreck that Claire rescues the conductor from was neat
- hey, look. siblings with the same power (or basically the same). that's new, and it really really shouldn't be. I guess Sylar and Peter have related powers, but everyone else is all over the place
- "they're tricking you, cause you're dumb!". lolz at dumbass firebrother.
- was Thompson's hair so fooftastic in the first season? lol, Eric Roberts. his return reminded me of something else that I had been wondering - where's all the non-powered people in the Company? in season one, it seemed like it was predominantly non-powered people, and now there's ... Bennet? is that it? it definitely seems like their idea of who and what the company is changed drastically
- implied Claude! I guess it's wicked easy to bring back a character without the actor if the guy's an invisible man. (would Claude still be in the Company at this point, though? I'm not sure on the timeline, cause I'm at school and I can't watch the episodes, but when did Bennet bust all those caps in him on his shootin' bridge? this must have been one of his last cases, then, if it fits in with the timeline at all)
- "oh noes, I hate that Company cause my baby died in a fire I set while I was trying to fight them!". then don't set fires in your flammable house around your baby, dumbass!
Sylar/Elle
- sigh. this feels almost as forced as Mohinder/Maya or Matt/Daphne ... it's like they can't deal with having unpaired characters running around. and this one in particular read like bad fanfiction. Elle in particular seemed way OOC ... she didn't seem to have enough of a grasp on appropriate social behavior in the second season to be able to fake it like that. and her falling for woobie!Sylar is ... sigh. lame. woobie!Sylar, also lame. I wish they would ease up on the redemption plot a bit, Sylar was a fucking villain. the whole "oh noes, he only stayed on the villainous path because that bad bad Company tempted him with goth brains!" thing is weakass.
- when does all the Elle stuff fit in with Gabriel and Chandra? like ... it seemed like he went back to Chandra days after killing Brian Davis, and the way he is there really doesn't fit with they way they have him respond here, and then Mohinder's in the city already in this episode ... how much times is supposed to have elapsed here? can someone buy the Heroes writers a timeline or a calendar or something?
- it also felt like they were trying to repeat the Mohinder/Eden stuff from the first season, but Elle doesn't really work for that kind of thing. it would have worked better if they actually used Eden again for this. I know they want to push Sylar/Elle, and it would still cause the same problem of "why didn't he remember her later?", but it makes more sense for Eden than Elle, since
a) Eden wasn't crazy
b) she was working with Bennet at the time, anyway
c) wasn't Peter retrieval in Ireland supposed to be Elle's first assignment? I didn't get the impression that she was a regular agent before then
- the suicide attempt at least fits in with his little serial-killer shrine of guilt in season one
- I'm assuming then that Elle will turn out to be the mother of Noah jr in the future. ok then.
- if they wanted to romance Sylar with pie, why not send Linderman? wait, was he working with or against the Company at that point ... goddamn, I can't keep track of this. anyway, the point is, they're insulting your famed pies, Linderman. that's no way to treat Stiiing
- why doesn't Sylar remember Elle in the last episode of season 2, by the way? her not remembering him is fine, I'm sure she's been Haitianed left and right, but shouldn't he have recognized her?
- that goth kid with magic bullet hands was checking Sylar out like woah. I predict threesome fic, though when it could possibly take place is anyone's guess. it'll still show up
- this is also going to give false hope to the people who want Kristen Bell and Zachary Quinto to hook up in real life. that's so likely
Teh Bennet
- old school Company Bennet! it is sooo interesting to see his take on Sylar before he became a threat to Claire. he's all "ooh, look at that guy eating brains, that's so cool!". if you ain't Claire, you ain't shit to Bennet. and I was so sure he was using Elle as bait. still might have been, he was taking his sweetass time getting out of the spyvan to help her
- "does he like pie?". oh my. oh. real pie. nevermind
- Sylar's a ... whale? singing to other whales. maybe Bennet just watched Star Trek 4
Mr African Isaac and Hiro
- sniff. poor Mr African Isaac (Usutu, not that you'd know it from watching the show). I was hoping he'd get to do more than be a mildly sassy Magical Negro, but apparently not. bah.
- I wonder if he knew this was coming, and that's why he was all "use your brain and not your powers" with Hiro. poor pre-cogs, they just don't last (unless they're Angela Petrelli, in which case probably nothing will kill them)
damn, that was long
