4x17: "A Clean Conscience"
so i missed it yesterday, but just saw it today. it was... okay, i think. not that exciting, but i'm sure this is just a transition into something better. i can feel it in my bones.
i made a list because i got lazy:
- beginning reminded me of the peacemaker
- sloane's combed back hair is... not normal. it's supposed to be spiked, like the hip guy he is.
- sloane's slick! with the handshake-y thing with sophia
- that guy! jack's doctor is that GUY!!!! (and that GUY!!!! is michael mckean, from the coneheads, this is spinal tap, etc. he's in everything, really.)
- "do you think he's gone rogue?" (DRAMATIC PAUSE, cue music)
- sophia was nadia's "mother" at the orphanage, right? k, just making sure.
- marshall! virtual imagery! funny helmet.... like SPACEBALLS.
- ah, let's zoom in on jack's diseased and peeeeeeling hand
- marshall is IN THE KNOW. he knows everything now. he's the devil's advocate, so to speak.
- ha, sloane's office doors are funny. the sound effect is very star wars
- poor vaughn in the field:
vaughn: (breathing heavily after chasing the guy) "i would've had him."
dixon: (after taking down the guy in one swing) "i know."
i loved the shot down the fire escape, though.
[upon showing syd the effects of the water weapon]
marshall: "you know, a dr. evil sort of way..."
- pill in jack's hand!
- wait, that's just an implant to regulate jack's medication intake (placed by the doctor)
- jack's memory loss is saddening. damn you radiation! and damn you jack for being so heroic! hubris, right? hubris.
- the irony of casualty in the field: dixon shooting former cia co-worker. sacrifices have to be made in this line of work
so now we have elena, the cruelest of the derevko sisters (the other 2 are irina, syd's mom, and katya, isabella rosellini). but HEY, guess who's elena? sophia. that's right, nadia's "mother" from the orphanage. how twisted is that? you know, i never suspected the necklace to do any harm but it is because it's a transmitting device. it's a little creepy that elena's been surveilling syd/nadia. ha. ::points to elena:: stalker! na-na! you're a stalker! i did keep wondering why they kept showing that guy with the glasses. now we know he works for elena and that somehow elena is working with what's-his-face. yup.
hope next episode is better.
so, uh, tom cruise is dating katie holmes. what's up with that.
