I've mentioned before that I'm pretty excited about June and I think that this post may sum up why. There are certain smells that always remind you of the best memories of the summers past, and these are mine.

So, peonies. I'm really crazy about them. I think they're right up there with lilacs as my favourite flowers. We used to have them in our garden when I was a child, we had these huge, bright pink ones. They were astonishingly beautiful.
