I had a lot of cancellations the week before this one (due to spring break) and managed to go to the gym every day. I was delightfully sore by Friday and felt incredible. This week I was pretty much back to my usual schedule and only managed to go 3 times. It's quite interesting to see what a difference it actually makes. Since I can't make it to the gym more often on my regular schedule (they close down at 8 pm, which is too early for me), I've decided to try and incorporate at least a bit more yoga and stretching into my days when I can't go to the gym. I need to make a concrete plan, though, so I can stick to it and hold myself accountable. :)
I had my
INBODY analysis done on Thursday and my results are quite amazing, compared to 6 months ago. I'm definitely on the right track for now. I have no problem with motivation but I have to get rid of that tiny bit of fear that I'll screw up again. I know I only think that because I did a bit last summer. I had great results and then I messed up by not taking proper care of what I eat. I don't want it to happen again but I also don't want to risk getting too restrictive about my food. I hope my last year's experience has taught me something and that I'll fare better this time around.
This weekend, I took my mum ice skating. Last time we went together was in London in December and I think she didn't enjoy it quite as much because of the bloody hockey skates. Neither of us had ever tried them before and they're quite awful. Not only because of the lack of the toepick but also because of the fact that you can't lace them up properly. No matter what I did they were not tight enough so my feet didn't feel secure in them at all. And it was definitely the same, if not worse, of my mum. Anyway, there's an outdoor ice rink still open next to a shopping centre we like to go not too far away from where we live so we decided to go and have some fun. Unfortunately, the ice was horrible. I asked about it afterwards and was told that the zamboni guy failed to turn up that morning and that he might come in the afternoon. I don't even know what to say to that. But at least we got to spend some time outside and get some sunshine and fresh air, which was not bad at all.
My mum was all smiles.
It was so nice to feel the sun on my skin. It was a very grey week so the weekend sunshine was more than welcome.
I really love spirals.
This week I'm grateful for:
1. Not giving up, even though it felt like the easiest thing to do at that time.
2. All the motivation that comes from within (and without).
3. Black tea with milk. A true Sunday afternoon staple.
4. Twin Peaks. It's the time of the year when we re-watch the series and every time we do, I remember just how much I love this programme, even though it's of course completely bonkers.
How was your week and weekend? What are you looking forward to next week?
