WARNING: long journal entry ahead!

I haven't updated in like two weeks so this may be a long one. I guess I'll start off with this week then backtrack to tell you all about the mission trip. We have had more lice at the B&G Club this week...we sent eight girls home in one morning. I also got hit on the butt by a kid and I knocked this girl down and made her cry. I swear it was an accident. She was hanging all over my arms and stuff during lunch time. If you have ever had a kid literally hang on you then you know how annoying it can be. I told her to sit down and I kind of jerked my arms away and she flew backwards...ahh, I'm terrible. Oh yeah, earlier that same day, a mole got loose in the Club and boy did I jump out of its way. We were all screaming, it was pretty hilarious.

Now, onto the mission trip. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I'm still sporting a rather bad sunburn though which is my fault because I couldn't stand looking at my whiter than white stomach anymore so now it is pinker than pink. Anyways, I learned how to shingle a roof...so awesome!!! It was really great. We nailed shingles onto the roof of a boy's cottage during the GA heat at an orphanage for children who had been taken from their homes by the state. It was called Morningstar and there were around 60 kids who stayed there and went to school there year round. The suffered from mental or physical impairments due to their broken homes. We didn't get much interaction with the kids, but we did get to play volleyball with them and they were awesome! I found it so great to be away from work and kids and to do physical labor instead. It was so liberating and I felt like I was actually accomplishing something. We worked for 3 and a half days on the roof and we had meals and casual church type services. The speaker we had was really good, but I seriously need to study the bible some more.

I was also acting really immature on the trip because we already had four chaperones and I am good friends with my youth because they are nearly my age. I'm not sure if it was good or bad that I was immature but I had a great time. We were so silly and I kept wrestling and punching with my cousins. It is like I have so much built up energy because I don't really have anyone to punch around with. Anyhow, it was fun and I learned a lot on the trip. I also met some really nice people from another youth group. We even had this presentation at our church about the trip... I had to speak publically!

Also, I had a great time the weekend before my trip at Emily's cabin. I got a little tipsy though, but I just loved hanging out with everyone! Oh, and this weekend I saw War of The Worlds with Zak which was pretty good. Then he took me out to dinner as a late birthday treat.

By gosh, I think I've updated on everything except that my parents are going to be gone for two weeks on a road trip out west. I'm gonna have to have house guests and go grocery shopping with my bro...it will just be us here.

Lots of Love. I cannot believe that my summer is almost over....well nearly a month left so not quite. I'm not ready for school though I miss everyone.
