Summer is here!
Howdy, another week has passed and summer is officially here! Let's see...nothing much has happened. I'm still having fun hanging out with my family. In fact, we had a fun cookout this weekend on the lake and Zak came too so it was fun. We also had dinner for my dad on father's day. I really enjoy my family, which most people find unusual.
I've been running some, I feel so lazy though because I'm eating so much. I've got to get back in the real swing of things. I need to run like 25 miles this week.
Let's see, a lot of interesting things have happened at the Boy's and Girl's Club this past week. There are good days and bad days and just plain hectic days, but I'm learning a lot from the job...and not just from the kids, but about myself.
We went on our first field trip last week to the pool and we have another one tomorrow then the zoo the next day. Sadly, everyone including the teachers got badly burned last week. It was awful, kids were blistered and one had sun poisoning. We felt terrible...never use the spray on sunscreen for faces and never assume someone is not burned if they don't look red. I'm just now peeling. We had one kid whose blistered got popped at the club by another kid- double yuck. We also had one kid puke last week because he got so worked up about being embarrassed. Today, we had a major lice outbreak...yikes! Plus, there are minor injuries and crying fits everyday. But, that makes the job exciting. Who knows what could happen next? But, hey I'll need the practice when I teach kindergarten.
I also had a bogus dream about my Nanny again...it was eery.
