My husband is at London Bridge and has rung to inform me that it has just been evacuated. That's the main line and the underground and that as far as he can tell, nothing is running.

Can anyone confirm what might be going on?

friend's father works for the transport police and he said that when the first boomb went off and the police and bbc and everyone was saying it was a power surge. They knew it wasn't, they knew what they were dealing with from the start, though perhaps not the extent. Thameslink has resumed through-London services, from Bedford to Blackfriars (and back) and from London Bridge south to Sutton/Brighton (ditto). Trains are passing through Kings Cross without stopping until further notice.

It's probably been said before but there is some solid information on what's going on on the Underground on undergroundgoth. Expressions of support for Underground staff might be appropriate there as many LU staff use that community.

I've just received an email from Transport For London with the following news from the Director of Group Marketing:

"I can confirm that National Rail, Bus and Docklands Light Railway services are returning to normal.

London Underground will be closed for the rest of the day and will start running a reduced service tomorrow morning."
