We started the day at Tate Britain where we went to see "Rube Britannia" (British comic art/satire from the 18th century onwards) which was excellent.

Adrian volunteered at the Garden Museum today, so I decided to stay at home and have a rest (apart from a trip to Waitrose).

This evening we went to see Alex and Mike at their new home in Streatham.

Today we decided to take it easy and didn't leave home until 10:45 (I only managed a 3 hour sleep in the night because of my cough and felt tired).

It was a lovely summer day and the parks were full of people sunbathing

After a very quiet and lazy Sunday, today on the first day of my first 'stay at home' holiday we spent the whole day in town.

First port of call was the Victoria and Albert Museum where we visited the 'Quilts' exhibition which was rather lovely.
It comprises specimens from 1700 to the present day with many different styles.

This evening I am starting my very first "staycation" in this country!

I have taken next week off work but haven't arranged to travel anywhere.

On one hand, I'm quite looking forward to the rest and to doing things in London; on the other, part of me keeps thinking that it's a waste of precious days of annual leave!
