Adrian yesterday was talking about Madeira with a neighbour. That reminded me that I hadn't finished posting the selection of pictures from our trip to Madeira in the first week of March.

I've been incredibly lazy at posting pictures of Madeira (we got back a month ago today) [actually, I feel I've been pretty lazy at posting in general].

The island is probably not the best place for people who cannot stand heights; for everybody else it offers fantastic views and sheer drops at the end of many hairpin bends, or from a funicular.

We got back from Madeira yesterday (our lovely friend Lynne came to pick us up at the airport).

The island exceeded expectations! Think of a little corner of paradise, floating in the Atlantic.

We had a quite a number of showers but it didn't spoil our holiday (on the contrary, they brought out some beautiful rainbows).

Irish carrier Ryanair, Europe's largest budget airline, might start charging passengers for using the toilet while flying

And talking of flying, we are off to Madeira early tomorrow morning (luckily, we are not flying Ryanair).
