I had to work from home this morning but this afternoon we went down to Brighton. Us and half of London. The train was packed and there were almost more people than pebbles on the beach!

Over the years I've (over)heard many people say how crap London Pride has become compared to the one in Brighton. As we had never been, it was high time to go on a fact finding trip!

Adrian suggested we re-used the costumes from 2006 and, thanks to the lovely Mike and Alex's hospitality, we had a place to go and get ready before the parade.

We are normally very lazy on a Bank Holiday Sunday, especially when we go to bed late the night before (we had our Eurovision mini-party which was great fun) but yesterday, we left home at 9 am, set for Brighton (it's a short 35 minute journey from East Croydon on the fast train).

Yesterday we spent the day in Brighton for some sea air (it was sunny!), and to see Alex and Mike who were there for the long week-end. We also had the pleasure to meet their friend David.

We spent Saturday in Brighton. 
David, a friend of ours, was house-sitting there and had organised a dinner with a few friends at Food for Friends (a great vegetarian restaurant); so we decided to go down to the coast for the day.

We went down to Brighton to discuss the details for our Civil Partnership celebration (7 weeks today).
