Whole Foods Market

Last week Adrian and
williamthebruce went to see the new Whole Foods store that opened in early June on High Street Kensington (before treating themselves to a cheese & wine picnic in the sweet garden by the church - I was at the office).
I went to have a look myself the other night, and wow, I was certainly impressed!

It is enormous when compared to other food halls /delicatessen (3 floors - the old Barkers department store) .
And the choice of food is incredible: a great emphasis is given to natural food and local produce, but there is food from all over the world.
The cheese counter's selection is remarkable (they even had a number of cheeses from my corner of Italy).

The delicatessen/take away section is huge, and so is the meat counter; I couldn't help but wonder what happens to all that perishable food, as, for its size, there weren't that many customers around.

I didn't look at the restaurant but I've read that it is rather pricey; most food - I think, with some exceptions - was reasonably/okay priced, dearer than supermarkets but cheaper than Harrods!
I even saw some of those flat Spanish peaches that I photographed at the market in Santiago... I was tempted to buy some but not at that price!! £0.99 (about US$ 2) each!!!

I bought a few things (including some organic Italian salami and some divine Tortas de aceite), and I think that I'll go there again because I am a food addict!
