Escapism

I don't think I suffer from SAD but I'm finding this winter to be interminable.
It's not the cold (or the snow) but the greyness and lack of blue sky and sunshine.

That, compounded with being rather bored and de-motivated at work, means that my head is often lost in the contemplation and planning of holidays.

At the same time, I'm aware that I should be trying to save some money and can hear my parents' voices in my head urging me to do so (and quite often hear, in real life, my mother sarcastically asking whether I have won the lottery).

On the other hand, I really love going away with london1952  and life's too short (I'm thinking of our three friends who passed away in the last year).

So apart from the upcoming trip to Malta,

I have now booked flights Barcelona (for a sojourn in Sitges
in September, together with bazanges )
and flights to Ljubljana
in April for a long week-end.

Also booked a week off work in June but still debating what to do.
The original plan was a trip to Puglia (Apulia)
the "heel" of Italy (neither of us has ever been there) but I've also toyed with the idea of Iceland
 and NYC
but all these options are rather expensive.

We may then decide to stay in the UK and go to Cornwall
, north Wales
or the Lake District
.

holiday, winter
