Yesterday the office was vibrating because of the contruction works of the new CrossRail line. It was quite an eerie feeling, a bit like the swaying when there are very strong winds (we are on the 27th floor).
Another victim of the unstoppable march of progress is the block opposite the office, which includes the famous
Astoria Theatre (click on it to read about its interesting story).
The demolition works of the theatre have been going on for ages, and they are rather fascinating to watch from above.
No, not because of the workmen (they are way too small from up here) but because it is like pulling apart a very complex model.
After the roof had gone, they spent weeks removing wood.
This is what it looked like in early February:
and this is what it looks like now:
Talking of theatre, it seems that cats may be making a comeback (and I'm not talking about the musical)
Exclusive: Cats to return to West End Cats, mice, plague...
Inigo - Adrian's younger nephew - caught swine flu at school in Leeds. "Trust Inigo!!" said Adrian when he heard (Inigo's a sweet and loveable scallywag!)
Now also Fiona (Adrian's sister) and her partner are not very well.
We sent them a plague survival kit: a chocolate hamper from Rococo chocolates!
