I keep trying to find a good hairdresser in New York. The only way to find a good hairdresser is to try different people. I went to Blondi's figuring that my desire for a haircut was pretty simple. Fix my bangs, re-cut my face framing layers and trim the split ends. That's it ( Read more... )

People on White Collar said I only hated it because it was shorter than I wanted, and not what I expected. It doesn't look "bad," it's just different than what I asked for. They insist that layers are in.

I still hate it. But I'm trying to live with it for now.

I debated the option of chopping it to start fresh but the hair department on WC specifically told me not to get short hair. I'm not sure if they dislike it in general or just don't think it's a good look for me. (I suspect they just don't like it in general. All of our agents have longer hair)

Americans seem to predominantly be brunette. On shows like The Big C, they have to actively seek blondes for the background in order to reflect the Midwest but in most of the urban areas it seems to be brunettes. I don't know what the casting formula is for WC. I know there is diversity amongst the agents. They seem to do a good job of hiring black, Asian, and Hispanic actors for the atmosphere. There is the joke that someone must like brunettes with blue eyes since a lot of principals seem to have those features but I don't know how true that is.
