The life without Internet
I WILL NOT SURVIVE ANOTHER MONTH WITHOUT PROPER INTERNET!!!! SOMEONE SAVE ME PLEASE >____>
And it's just the beginning of November and I'm stuck here.
I have just missed a once-a-year (IF it's gonna happen next year as well, and might not) chance to get a free unique character skins in Borderlands 2. I have also missed a RARE chance to get a few of the unique special keys in Borderlands 2, which are not just randomly lying around in the game. All that because of those assholes of Gearbox RESTRICTED the access to those specials for the Xbox Live Gold members only. I've became a regular Xbox gamer. I play games basically every day since I got it (a year ago), unless I have important last-minute schoolwork to do. In any other case I would not even CARE that they require gold membership, having it either active or activate it for that occasion. But not having internet I CANNOT do that. The idea of getting FREE stuff (like special additions or games) is that they are FREE. I will not pay 20 zł worth of month's membership to download a few things on one day and waste other 29 days when it would be valid.
But that's not the only problem there is. I CANNOT DO ANYTHING without proper Internet. Some other day I needed to work late on a online version of a report, but my roommate came home, and at 1 she reminded me that she would like to do to sleep. But the only place where I have internet is my room! Kitchen has a good table and light but there's no internet. I managed to catch some signal yesterday in the living room, but it's enough to move my laptop 2 cm and it DISCONNECTS.
And then I cannot download any movies or anything. Like, right now I do actually need to (should) watch a movie, that might help me with my essay, but I CANNOT DOWNLOAD IT.
I won't say that I need internet for schoolwork, because that be a big fat lie, but even though I came here to study, there's other things to do beside studying, right? You cannot study all the time. And then it comes to preferences. Some will go for a run, some will read, hang out, whatever. And I, I like watching anime and playing games.
So I'm like bothering my friend with "Anna, can I come with my Xbox and use your Internet to synchronize stuff", "Anna, could you download that for me", "Anna, can I come again with the Xbox". And then I bike 30 min in the RAIN to feed the machine some internet and download the special offer free stuff, to learn that I do not have enough privileges for that.
And it's not only me who's suffering from the lack of internet here. One girl who moved out after a month, she bought mobile internet for 300 kr per month, just to be able download stuff and browse internet in acceptable speed, but I don't have that sort of money, and it would not solve the gaming issue. My roommate, she spends most of her time with her boyfriend in a city 3 hrs away, downloads week's portion of TV series episodes and lives a week without internet. And the best I can do is ask a friend to borrow internet for a few minutes, or for a few downloads. And for all that I feel terribly terribly bad.
*despair*
I'm gonna go drown in zombie blood. I need to play some offline game and feel like I can still DO something on my Xbox, except having it look nicely. Lollipop Chainsaw.
