Better late than never~ ;] [But James Bond, really?] ribbonlily December 27 2009, 22:38:38 UTC
Her face flushed, and she all but froze at his gesture. To be completely honest, Lenna wasn't going to expect all that much due to the fact the two of them were already used to going out together, not to mention that their first impression of each other was over ten years ago.

So what was with this new development?

The thought of it brought another layer of red onto her face, which she hoped would settle down soon or her heart wouldn't be able to take it. "N-No, I didn't wait too long," she replied, inwardly cursing the fact she had just stuttered. With that, the idea to stay calm and cool immediately went out the window.

"The view was more than enough to offer some sort of entertainment," Lenna ensured, knowing that he would still be worried about the things he knew that she wouldn't mind too much. As she leaned against the railing with him, a thought came to her. When exactly was a good time to hand him his present? She pushed the thought away, not wanting to think about that for the moment and instead, concentrate on what was happening now. Vash's comment for instance.

"It's always been a hobby of mine to wander about. Finding places like these just come with the package deal," she offered, knowing that along with the places she had yet to show him, there were still a select few that she could never reveal to anyone. Ever. Unless she wanted her reputation to go down the drain.

"Hey Vash?" Lenna called and smiled as he turned to her, "Merry Christmas." She thought about what she had just said, then laughed more to herself than out loud, "Well, it's close enough to say it."

[It was either Bond or James T. Kirk, and I'd rather not make a Star Trek reference...orz] flurryofbullets December 30 2009, 10:19:06 UTC
The warmth of her light-hearted smile made Vash blush slightly as he in turn began to smile as well. "Yeah..." slowly he placed his hand on top of hers and held it, "Merry Christmas." He couldn't help but turn his head slightly away from her to hide the reddening color that had appeared in his cheeks. It wasn't often that he did this sort of thing, and frankly he felt it was a bit nerve-wracking to say the least.

"Was it too soon??" he thought, "Or should have I gone in for a kiss?" "No it's too early!" Hidden beneath his rosy tint was a cacophony of endless questions and rebuttals banging across his mind and giving the poor Swiss a bit of a headache. But he was not about to compromise the wonderful situation he was in. The headache was worth it.

One question however did manage to stand out from the others though. "Do you want to exchange gifts now?" he asked meekly, trying to bring his gaze back to her but failing, "Or would you like wait until midnight?"

He quickly felt along the side of his jacket to make sure the present was still in place and gave a small sigh of relief when he felt the gift. It took a bit of work to get it but Vash didn't mind making more of an effort if it was for Lenna.

[...at least it wouldn't be a Star Wars reference. >A>] ribbonlily December 30 2009, 22:29:52 UTC
As he turned away in embarrassment, Lenna giggled at his behavior and wondered where the usually confident Vash was. She guessed that even the hardened cop could have a cute side to him as well. Once he grasped her hand in his however, she felt her own face heat up. Vash was never the best at expressing himself, she knew that but the small gestures were enough for her. The actions of endearment towards her made her heart beat faster.

Looks like waiting all these years had paid off.

Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by his question and the more she thought about it, the more it seemed like he was actually nervous about tonight. She smiled again in an attempt to provide some solace for him and replied, "Well, either way could go..." she backtracked as his expression worsened, "We could do it now if you want."
