In the easiest term, Roderich was simply not a morning person. He rarely climbed out of bed until the digital clock signified it was nearly noon and if he didn't get out of bed soon, he would go into work late and that would equate one step closing to a demotion or to the line in the unemployment center.
Today, surprisingly, Roderich was already out of bed and was standing in front of the mirror to get ready for his - how should he phrase it - rendezvous with Elizaveta. It wasn't out of the ordinary for him to spend a good amount of time working on his appearance. But for Elizaveta's sake - to make up for his terrible impression at their last outing -, he was taking second look, obsessing over the particular strand of hair that refused to be combed down. Gel, water, hair spray, nothing could make the hair stayed down.
Finally and much reluctantly, Roderich gave up and permitted the unruly hair to stand as it wished. A glance to the clock, and he was darting out the bathroom and out of the house. A moment was taken to linger by Macbeth's door. He worried, but he would have to talk with the roommate later.
He couldn't keep a lady waiting.
With the bouquet of roses in hand, Roderich managed to arrive seconds before the due time. A heart-pounding sigh, he raised his hand and pressed on the door bell.
