She could feel the blush on her cheeks getting warmer as she shifted on her seat, trying to ignore the faint sparks of embarrassment. Regardless, Emi was able to keep further signs of her suddenly flustered emotions from showing. Of course, this was still difficult as she was much too used to these situations propping up...in private with whomever she was dating at the time or places such as bars and clubs and not university cafes.
"Mm, no, you're right," Emi eventually said, unknowingly licking her lips in thought before her eyes flickered back toward his own. "Though, don't need to try? Sounds a little vain, querido," she teased lightly.
"It's not vanity if it's based on fact," Heracles replied blithely, grinning unrepentantly.
He glanced at the slight flush remaining on Emiliana's cheeks, and toned down the grin a little.
"I'm not making you uncomfortable, am I?" he asked, tone much gentler than before. "I sometimes forget not everyone is as... open about such things as I am."
"Fact, huh?" Emi repeated before she started at the sudden inquiry. Now she could feel her cheeks begin to heat up at the realization that her slight unease had been noticed, expression embarrassed for a different reason as she shook her head.
"No, no. It's fine. I mean, technically I should be used to it considering the types of friends I tend to make. Especially since....most of my friends tend to be male to begin with," she responded with a sheepish laugh.
"Mm..." Heracles replied, his fingers playing absently with the cup half full of cooling coffee. To ensure it didn't go to waste, he took a few large sips, sighing as he placed it back on the table, finger circling round the rim, before he tapped it to his lips. For all his languidness, Heracles was surprisingly prone to fidgeting like that, though he himself would have explained it as being a tactile person. And, that much he could admit, rather easily bored.
As his attention returned to Emiliana, he smiled though.
"Still, you're free to tell me if I'm too," he made a vague gesture with one hand "Anything. I've told in the past I can be a bit overwhelming. Though, it wasn't always a complaint," he couldn't resist adding with a flirty smirk.
She was getting flustered again, eyes lowering to stare at the table once again as she fidgeted. Emi knew that she should excuse herself now, but the sudden, playful comment made her pause for a moment. It was too soon, really, for her to be doing this. But break-ups were confusing and there was no official rule book for how to go about life post-heartbreak. At least, something that didn't involve a continuous cycle of self-pity and crying. And no matter how much she loved Jared, and still did, she couldn't do that. While a new relationship was something that Emi knew she wasn't ready for, she supposed...at least mild flirting and feeling like she still could mean something to someone, if for a fleeting night or mere moment, was something she could do.
Glancing up from beneath her lashes, Emi gave the brunette a coquettish smile. "Is that so?" She asked. "You don't seem that overwhelming to me. Or is this just not the best environment for me to notice that? Granted, I've been told I can get a bit, ah, passionate certain things
A small smirk graced her lips as raised a brow, expression morphing into one of innocent surprise. "Even for you?" She echoed, pulling back slightly in order to cross her arms over her chest once again. "I have to admit, I'm surprised."
"Well, if it was a bit darker and there was a suitably out of sight corner somewhere..." Heracles explained languidly. He hadn't actually ever had sex in a cafe. Well, depended a bit on the definition of a cafe... "Background music helps too," he added cheerfully. "Unless one can keep quiet very well."
"I think the cafeteria is too crowded for anything too scandalous," Emi replied slowly, lips quirking upward as she shook her head. "And you do know there are cameras in here, right?"
Heracles giggled. "Maybe?" he said with a grin. "At least, it's a bit too much effort. Although I doubt anyone actually checks those cameras, assuming they even record. Not unless someone nicks the till or something."
"Who knows," Emi replied with a slight grin. "Maybe security gets bored and checks the camera in order to judge some of the people here. I'm sure it gets boring sometimes, you know?" She leans back against her seat, legs crossed and fingertip going back to tracing the table top idly. "But it is too much effort, you're right. Maybe apartments or less...crowded places work better for the least amount of effort, I suppose."
Rolling her eyes, Emi made a small noise of bemusement. "Then, did you really sit by me to get to know me or get into my skirt? I have to admit, I'm curious again after this sudden conversation topic."
Heracles' eye widened into a faux-innocent look again.
"Ah, are you going to slap me if I say yes?" he asked. "Not that it would mean I don't want to get to know you, you know. I mean, besides in the, how do they say, biblical sense," he explained thoughfully.
"Mm, no, you're right," Emi eventually said, unknowingly licking her lips in thought before her eyes flickered back toward his own. "Though, don't need to try? Sounds a little vain, querido," she teased lightly.

"Yeah, it's a bit public, even for me," he replied faux-innocently.

"Sometimes it's worth the risk for the... thrill of it, you know?" he said dreamily.

"Naaw, exhibitionism is not for everyone," he declared magnanimously.
