Who: Wilm and Herc When: Thursday, September 15, 3:30 pm. Where: The Royal Café What: Willem stops by to see Kiku, and runs into someone he hasn’t seen in a while.
Maybe it was the overcast weather they'd been having lately, but Heracles had been oddly... downcast lately. At least, downcast by his standards. There wasn't really a good reason for it, everything was going pretty well after all. Unless one counted his grades, but it wasn't like those had ever been that good to begin with or like he had particular ambitions for them to be either. His jobs gave enough money to get by and decent chances of meeting interested, if not always particularly interesting individuals for one night stands.
And yet.
There was just this niggling feeling of boredom, of being stuck in place, life rolling by him. Which also didn't usually bother him, and he wasn't sure why it did now... maybe it was all too mundane, lacking in excitement and inspiration. Really, he blamed that professor in the French Literature course who kept waking him up so rudely. He worked nights! He had to sleep some time didn't he?
Indeed, the last time he'd really had fun was... ah, saving Kiku with his Dutch (heh, though there was

"Well, we were kids... had this letter exchange thing at school, ended up sending them back and forth a while," he explained it offhandedly, as if it hadn't been rather unlike him to extend that much effort on something that didn't have an immediate payment in the form of at least human company. Allthough, to be fair... as a child, he'd spent more time alone that most people might think. Heracles himself didn't always remember it, but he'd been considered something of an oddball as a child.
A lot of his time had been spent wondering alone, following cats or napping or getting up to mischief... sometimes even with other children, but just as much on his own. It was only when he'd really figured out the joys of sex and how best to get people to share them with him that he'd become a more social person.
And perhaps his interactions outside of that had remained somewhat limited, but that was another thing Heracles preferred not to dwell on. There were, after all, other considerations that were more interesting.
"And then you both ended up here," Willem replied. "Not surprising, given this city."
He held the door open as the two walked in, waving to a hostess he knew. By now most of Kiku's employees knew the blond Dutchman as a friend of the owner, although how many of them knew he was more than that Willem wasn't quite sure. She informed them Kiku had stepped out on cafe business but was expected back any minute, and sat them at a back corner table so they could wait.

"Wilm," he replies, giving the other man his nickname. "It's good to see you again."
He gestured towards the cafe.
"Are you going in?"
Reply
"Might as well," he replied easily. "Was hoping Kiku might be in?"

They seemed like such an unlikely duo to the Dutchman that he was curious.
