She was more than willing to blame that idiot blond pilot of a not-friend of hers for tonight's bad luck. Had it not been for Jones showing up when it was near closing, Emi's nerves wouldn't have been as frazzled as they were now. Nor would she have had to use up a few bullets on the aforementioned idiot when he refused to pay his tab ( ... )

Doing as he was told, Emmanuel worked fast. With the window open, he darted in, footsteps light against the wooden floors.
Until he saw their fallen foe.
"Carajo," Emmanuel couldn't help but curse under his breath, dragging the man's unconscious body to a corner, looking for something to cover him with- disorient him more. Deciding a table cloth would work well enough, he stuffed it all around the man- tangled in it, the noble would have trouble getting up later.
"This is risky," he muttered, wiping his brow. Why had he gotten into this mess, again?

"You think?" Emi hissed back, peaking over the window to stare down at the streets below them. It didn't seem as though they'd been seen, but that didn't mean they could take it easy tonight.

Carefully stepping into the dimly lit room, Emi made sure to keep from making too much noise with the boots she had hurriedly slipped on before leaving her flat. Glancing down at the fallen man, she figured they had at least thirty minutes to an hour before he came to. And with the window now fully open, they could probably flee a bit easier now.

"What are you looking for again?" Emi whispered, glancing around the room.

"Shipment. There's supposed to be a certain rival seeing someone here tonight," he explained. "I have to record the information to code it." He sighed, thinking.
"I was told the information would be in a letter.. and the owner of this house has a drawing room where he usually does his communications. That's what we're looking for."

Ah, well. Field work couldn't really be avoided. He didn't mind, really... It was just risky.

Chewing on her bottom lip, Emi slipped her gun back into her holster for the time being as she gave the room another look over. "A letter, pues? Alright. That shouldn't be too hard." A lie. And perhaps her companion caught it with the slight exasperation in her voice. "Do you think they'd leave that lying around?"

A pause.

"Are we even in the right room?"

"Possibly, you know high-class 'tan stupido," replied Manny, looking around and shaking his head. "This is.. a woman's drawing room, I think," he muttered, judging by all the romance books, lamps, flowers, lacy rugs. "Or someone has a secret."

He couldn't help but laugh at that. "We've just gotta hope it ain't too locked. Or crowded."

Here, she offered the brunette a strained smile as she forced herself to brush off his comment. "Pues, if that's the case, maybe you can score a few extra coins for this tiny secret, no?" Her grin turned more relaxed as they continued to scan the room, inching closer to one of the draws pressed against the farthest wall of the room.

"We should probably hurry then."

"Those would be your coins for tagging along," he offered, putting a hand on the door handle and shook his head. "You step through first. They'd expect a man's footsteps- you'll just have to dart around while I make it seem like he's having a look around."

HE had plans for these kind of things, after all.
He'd have to step more heavily- the man on the floor was a lot bigger than he was.

"Ay, I hope it's a sufficient payment amount for commissioning me as your manpower, Manny," Emi responded with a a wry grin. Double checking to make sure her gun was properly in her holster - but still easily available lest she need it - Emi gave a quick nod.

Carefully, she opened the door, making sure to keep as quiet as possible. It was dark, the only bit of light coming from the room she had just stepped out of it. Fighting back a huff, she squinted until her eyes were more or less adjusted to the near darkness as she inched out further, quickly looking around.

It seemed quiet. But, vaguely, she could make out the sounds of people downstairs.

They really would have to hurry tonight.

If it wasn't, he'd make sure to pay her well.
He was nice.
Sometimes, too nice.

Tromping around to mimic the man's footsteps, he followed Emi, looking at each door, testing their locks and opening them.
Finding the drawing room, he grinned. "Emi!"

Inching closer toward the staircase, Emi chanced a look over the rail to get another look. Another moment of silence and then-

The creak of someone stepping on the first stair.

Shit.

The moment Manny called her name, Emi hastily but carefully slipped closer to the door, motioning toward him. "Someone's coming," she hissed quietly. "Did you find it because we need to get the hell out of here fast."

Manny dove in, looking for the letter. In a few moments, he had it.
"Emi, it's here!" He hissed in a loud whisper, hearing the footsteps growing louder and closer.

They had to hurry. Back through the first window?
"Let's get back!"

Rushing back in, it only took but a quick second for Emi to procure her gun once again. "I don't think we have time to run back down the hall," she hissed, reaching into the hidden pocket of her skirt to toss a small handgun toward Manny. "Supongo que lo sabes usar, hombre," she said with a strained if rakish grin.

Not bothering for a response, Emi rushed back into the room, tossing a quick look over her shoulder as she struggled to open the window, all the while paying attention to the change of casual footsteps suddenly turning rather hurried.

Mierda.

Shoving the window open, Emi grabbed for Manny.

"C'mon, ya nos vamos."
