Commonalities

Apr 29, 2011 10:17

WHO: Veata and Matthew
WHEN: Apr 29, a few hours before HOCKEY
WHERE: A nice cafe in Charleston
WHAT: A pleasant discussion online leads to offline chit-chat and a somewhat awkward mistake.

A heavy lack of sleep the night before was the only thing responsible for Matthew almost being late now. Well not- late, because he never exactly gave Veata a time, but if he wanted to talk to her and get a chance to catch the hockey game with Sindre- Oh maple. Why had he woken up so late and then thought it was a brilliant idea to bring Kuma along? Cursing quietly, he tow along the heavy (and overly lazy) bear dog behind him, almost stooping to the point of begging as he attempted to keep up at least a walk towards the cafe Veata worked at.

He managed to reach the cafe, tying Kuma's leash to one of the sturdy outside tables before hesitantly peeking his head into the door, a slight flush spread across his face as he looked around at the staff, swallowing hard. Oh this was going to be awkward.

He didn't even know what she looked like.

Or her last name-

And now come to think of it- How did one pronounce 'Veata'?

Beginning to think this had been less than a well thought out plan, Matthew took a deep breath and steeled himself, butterflies still jittering nervously in his stomach as he headed inside towards the nearest waitress. He cleared his throat and offered his best kind smile, ending up to be more of a pleading look than anything else. "A-Ah excuse me... Miss-?" he called, voice still characteristically soft. "Is there- a... a- Veta here?"

what the derp?, adorable is how we roll, cambodia, canada, a non-date date, mix-and-match
