He had made several attempts to lift a spoonful of ice cream to his lips but the television had kept him entranced. His eyes tore across the screen furiously to follow the English subtitles Emi had enabled for him, distracting his attention from the bowl of sticky sweet that had slowly but surely developed into a pastel puddle. For a string of seconds he didn't even notice as the slurry was starting to melt onto his hand for how much he was enrobed in the telenovela.

Kai pondered all these questions and more as the Spanish language barraged his ears, making the words even harder to follow, and the storyline nearly twenty times more complex. “S-So, wait. Wait.” He interrupted as quietly as he might, twisting his head to his two fellow slumber partiers with an expression tripled over in confusion. “S-So.. the nun is evil? And also has an evil twin? Who is pregnant with.. who's baby?”

Could nuns even do that?

At last he finally noticed his ice cream trying to make it's escape down his arm in thin rivulets, maintaining no solidarity to manners or graces as he hurriedly tried to clean them up with the tip of his tongue. “Ahh, I'm sorry I'm having so much trouble following it!”
