WHO: Veronika and Alfred (open to whomever wants to join) WHEN: January 4th, Friday morning. WHERE: Veronika's classroom WHAT: Someone should have dropped this class when they had the chance~
Ahhhh that title will never get old~waitforsupermanFebruary 5 2011, 22:46:05 UTC
Silences usually bothered Alfred. Really, the idea of nothing but a ticking clock, a teacher just staring at her students- usually that would drive him up the wall and he'd be forced to crack some joke or try and discreetly leave the classroom and take refuge in the cafe in the library.
Today, though, it didn't bother him in the slightest. It gave him time to work in a very quiet and calm setting.
Ever since he'd arrived in this class, he'd regretted it. Having signed up for it back when he was in California with no goal in mind than getting laid by some chicks who were impressed with his respect towards woman and bravery in taking this class, he was quickly finding that this wasn't working.
He offered the ring at his hand a glare before going back to his notes.
There had been a huge plus side. Now that he was taken, he was able to stare at the teacher shamelessly. And then he started to notice a patter-
"Malthusianbalhblahblah...reproductive rights?"Blearily, he looked up at her, head tilting slightly. "Sorry-" he said, shaking

Why you do this. pravdadominaFebruary 6 2011, 03:51:21 UTC
Painted lips pursed somewhat, though the smile had yet to leave her eyes as the woman gave an amused sigh. Shaking her head, Veronika flicked a piece of non-existent lint from her blouse as she stepped forward, inching closer to the front row of seated students. The ruler tapped lightly against her thigh now as she continued to stare at the blond.
"Malthusianism," she repeated. "Is connected to today's and next week's lecture on reproductive control and welfare. Think of liberalism, if you must." Veronika's lips quirked somewhat. "But I think that was hint enough for you, mister Jones. So can you please answer the question now, miláčku?"
Because that's just how I roll.waitforsupermanFebruary 13 2011, 12:20:49 UTC
Alfred's fingers itched and just for a moment twitched towards the keyboard of his laptop so he could give her the right answer so she'd leave him alone. But that ruler was tapping against her thigh and Alfred had seen it smack down on more than a few keyboards.
And hell if she'd even get that metal near his lappy.
Mind whirling a little, going from him DOMI Theory to focusing on the woman, Alfred scratched the side of his cheek in thought, blue eyes never leaving hers. "It's about... People holding back when it comes to sex to keep the world from blowing itself up, right? Basically, use a condom so we don't waste food with more babies."

"Close, but not quite." Veronika said with a disappointed little sigh, her ruler tapping against Alfred's desk. It was obvious that the blond would be one of the more difficult students to deal with, judging by the look of confusion that had flashed in his blue eyes. She slide the ruler away from the desk as she crossed her arms over her chest, eyebrows raised. "I'm curious. Have you been keeping up with the reading, Mr. Jones? I do not think your classmates would appreciate my giving them a quiz in order to find out if you are not the only one behind. It's not quite fair, darling. But I will do it."
Her eyes flashed briefly even as she continued to smile.
I AM UNDERSTANDING OF THIS LATENESS AND I STILL LUB YOU <3waitforsupermanFebruary 22 2011, 09:15:42 UTC
Hmm... The guy behind her was definitely not hiding where his eyes were going. While the other boy's were down and roaming, Alfred's flickered back to the prof's, blinking owlishly again. Readings- quiz- QUIZ!? This word sent a shivering through him.
"No! I mean of course I have-" -been reading that book on my bedside that's still in its plastic wrap- "it's just- Some of it is really confusing. I think if you maybe just- helped me with the reading after class?"
He'd have to call Ivan... But it was worth missing time with him instead of becoming the most hated person in class for a making everyone do a surprise quiz.

"You can see me after class, but do not think that I will handle you the answers on a silver platter, miláčku." Veronika smiled pleasantly as she moved away - though not before slamming her ruler against the desk of the unnamed student with the wondering eyes.
"I will let everyone go ten minutes early. I am holding office hours today, so if you wish to speak to me, my office will be open." She paused, eyes glittering dangerously. "I do suggest you visit me if you want to get a good grade on your upcoming paper, darlings."
OH GOD SHE'S RABID.waitforsupermanMarch 3 2011, 17:17:19 UTC
Alfred slumped into his seat as the rest of his class all seemed pretty pleased by the early leaving time and he waved at a few of them, not too keen on leaving himself because he'd basically just condemned himself to an hour-long one-on-one lecture with the professor. Oh well, better than a popquiz and maybe he'd actually learn something.
Carefully putting his things away, taking his time so he was the last one in the classroom besides Professor Dvořáková, Alfred slouched down the rows, waiting at the door for her, nudging it open and holding it there with his toes, slipping hands into his pockets.
"So I don't get to know what Malthusianism is, do I?"
You love it. 8|pravdadominaMarch 5 2011, 20:56:29 UTC
"No," Veronika replied simply as she began to lead the way toward her office. Her ruler had been tucked inside her laptop bag for safe keeping the moment class was over, least she be tempted to smack Jones over the head with it for his incompetence.
"I do not see the need to you when it is obvious that you have not bothered to keep up with the reading," Hands fishing for her keys in her coat pocket the moment they reached her office door, Veronika turned to the blond with a somewhat exasperated expression. "After you."
Alfred watched her put the ruler away before slipping into the room at her command. Looking around at the books lining the shelves around the room, which looked a little bare, probably due to her only recent arrival at the school. There were only two chairs, the one behind her desk and a... weirdly uncomfortable looking one across from it.
He sat down in that one.
"I'm really sorry about today professor." Alfred said quickly, smiling at her. "It won't happen again. I guess I'm just not 100% sure on this whole deal works."
Once seated behind the large desk in her office, Veronika began to deposit what had been in her bag back on to her desk. A pocket book of Foucault's second volume of The History of Sexuality, or The Use of Pleasure, her cellphone, ruler, and small notepad.
Carefully setting her bag down beside her, the older woman turned to stare at Alfred with an unamused stare before smiling, the light of her office reflecting off the lens of her glasses as she crossed her arms over her chest. "If you want to apologize to me, miláčku, you will read. Or will I have to assign you surprise quizzes instead of the other students, hm?" Her arms remained crossed over her chest as her eyes narrowed almost dangerously before easing in their intensity. "And why take a course that you do not actually need if you are not going to do the work, Mister Jones?"
"Why did I take this course?" The repetition of this question only made Alfred realise how royally fucked he was. The only reason he'd signed up for this course was to pick up a few feminist chicks and maybe score. Things changed (namely Ivan) which had made this plan a complete and utter waste but he couldn't drop...
Clearing his throat, Alfred shifted in his seat and looking at his teacher. Better take the lesser of two evils... "I thought it'd be easy marks." He mumbled.
She stared and then, slowly, began to smile. However, the smile that began to creep onto her lips was something more dangerous than she had ever given any of other students. Oh, it was not to say that she did not know of the students that took classes that they presumed to be easy. She had been there, done that, and still dealt with it today. But that did not mean that it amused her to have a student, especially a student such as Jones, assume that her class would be anything but simple.
So she smiled.
Smiled and pushed her glasses back up to rest properly on the bridge of her nose as she leaned against the back of her chair, arms still crossed over her chest.
"Maybe it would be easier if you actually read, child."
"I got that much," Alfred said, the barest tone sharpness to his voice. "Thanks professor."
He did not like that smile in the slightest. It made his insides curl and he wanted to squirm in the chair but he knew, from observation, that showing weakness in from of Professor Dvořáková would pretty much leave you boned and with an extra chapter of reading.
His body needed to move and he quickly stood up, bag swinging pathetically at his side. "I should go. And read. Like right now-okayseeyoulaterthanksforseeingmeprofessor."
With that, Alfred made a valiant attempt for the door, getting one step closer to freedom-
Before the American could get so much as a foot out of her office, Veronika was up, long legs striding purposefully towards him as she slammed her palm against the wooden door, blocking the exit as her lips curled upward.
"I hope you understand that while students may complain about my class and its supposed difficulty," Her voice was breathy now, dangerously low as her nails dug themselves into the wall, dark red clashing with earthy brown. "No one is near the point of failing. No one except you, Jones."
And like that, she pushed herself away from the door, smile brighter and seemingly more at ease. "But it was nice speaking to you, miláčku. Have a nice day, hm?"
