He just wanted to escape recognition out in public, not pass for a woman. )
But openly starring at people was still rude.
Making it seem like you weren't, however, wasn't as bad.
Lowering her eyes as a way to make her starring less obvious, Emiliana absently placed two boxes of mazapan candies into her cart while she continued to observe the fumbling woman. It really wasn't her fault that the other person's attire had caught her attention. And it also wasn't her fault that the woman vaguely reminded her of someone (someone other than her grandmother, of course). But who? She wasn't exactly sure. Though, as she continued to idly pick through the shelves of assorted, and obviously Mexican, candies, Emiliana continued to wrack her memory while shooting quick glances at the short woman and her bug-eyed sunglasses.
However, all Emiliana could come up with was that one night she went to the Vargas Pizzeria and Chueca, when she had helped some unknown stranger up from the floor. But, that incident had been shortly followed by two or three drunken fights at the club, so it was still proving a bit difficult for her to recall the stranger's face.
...though, even with her fuzzy memory, she could have sworn that the person she had helped up had been a very short man.
