So it was a bit... overdone. Perhaps. The thought struck Yao like a bolt from the blue when he caught a glimpse of himself in one of the long glass panes of the store. Aiya, what on earth had he been thinking?! Oversized black sunglasses obscured most of the upper half of his face, no doubt carefully borrowed from Yong Soo, and those were more than likely lifted from his sister or left at their flat by an old girlfriend (Jennifer, perhaps? Everything about her seemed like a distant blur by now). A headscarf was neatly tied under his chin. He looked like a 50s movie star.... an actress. Or worse yet, some kind of babushka. Either way, those images were so obviously female! With all his past shamelessness, he just wanted to escape recognition out in public, not pass for a woman, albeit - he peered down at his chest - a flatter-than-flat one at that...
Too late to get back to the car and hide. He was already here, standing in front of the rickety sliding doors that seemed to change their mind last minute, start to shut, and then fly open with a resounding crack; he might as well make the best of it and pick at some good deals. Grabbing a shopping cart and pushing his shades up his nosebridge, he slid into the cool, hyper-bright interior of... the 99¢ Only Store.
