Save a Horse (ride a cowboy)

Who: Alfred and Moon
When:  January 18th
Where: Little ranch outside of town
What: In need of a second job, Alfred goes down the the ranch and finds a very strange man. Pride is challenged and Alfred isn't about to back down.

The smell of fresh hay alone made Alfred feel at home.

He took a moment to just breath in the air of the stable before settling a little lower in his jacket and stepping into the alley lined with stalls. Head poked out of a few, breath rising in small puffs of air. The owners of the ranch had told him that it would be a while before they could start an interview and he could have to wait. He agreed and in the meantime he was told to find a horse and saddle up as they wanted to test his skills around a horse before even considering him for a position. Which meant they'd be checking his selection, riding skills and general preparation.

God, he just felt so country and it was great.

Humming a little as he went along the stalls, he stopped in front of a large black horse. Looked like an American Standardbred but then again, he wasn't an expert. It was big and it was following his with its eyes which was a pretty good sign. He slowly made his way over, picking up a handful of oats from a nearby barrel, offering it to the large horse. The large nose bumped against his hand, taking a deep breath before devouring the oats in his hand. The American grinned, reaching up, soothing his other hand down the long nose, fingers running along the white stripe that disrupted the pure black of it's coat.

"You're a beaut, that's for sure."
