Gupta, of course, was perfectly comfortable in this sort of sauna-like temperatures. He had stripped down to a pair of pajama pants and nothing else, leaving his bare feet and chest shamelessly exposed. His toes wriggled with joy as he relished how the heat from the fire pulsated against their skin. It was strangely soothing and reminded him of times spent out in the Egyptian desert with nothing but a fire, Anubis and his camel to keep him company

As Gupta showed off his bare chest easily, displaying little regard to the fact that he was half naked and sitting next to his boyfriend, Sadiq pulled uncomfortably at his collar. It was coming to the point that he'd love to just strip down himself and sprawl out, even as such a thing would be difficult as the other snuggled closer against his side. He really almost groaned at this, but miraculously shut his vocal chords off so not to ruin what was supposed to be a decent evening, and submitted himself. Gupta didn't mean any harm, as far as he could tell

Gupta watched Sadiq carefully, realizing, for the first time, that his boyfriend was uncomfortable about something. He was momentarily distracted when the man lifted his arm and wrapped it around him instead, pulling him surprisingly close. The Egyptian made a soft, happy sound and snuggled even closer. "Yes," he said, eyes lidded and thoughtful. "A few." He didn't plan on revealing them anytime soon --verbally, anyways. "And I'm glad you are not spending this New Years alone

He was also glad that he wasn't spending New Years alone. Between getting drunk at the bar with people he only likes to an extent, or sitting at home with a small glass of brandy, neither had ever been his optimal way of spending a day when everyone else he knew was actually having a good time out there. Perhaps it was loneliness; or perhaps he was just envious that he no longer had that same amount of energy it took to go to parties. Sadiq sighed and took another small swig of the beer before setting it back down. It seemed that Gupta was also not going to share his New Years wish, but the mystery of it amused the older man enough for him to not inquire further

Egyptians built the biggest pyramids in the world. They're not very subtle people, LOL.

Gupta's eyebrows furrowed a bit at that answer. He still wasn't fluent at picking up sarcasm (especially Sadiq's particular type of dry wit), but there were other reasons behind his confusion. Did Sadiq really think that moving "too fast" was a bad thing? They had been going very slow, which was both lovely and considerate, but now Gupta was ready to try more. He knew Sadiq was the farthest thing from being a virgin, but the man seemed so... hesitant when it came to Gupta. It was almost insulting if it wasn't so bewildering

To be fair, they've only been dating, technically, a little over a month

He could hear fireworks not only on the TV, but outside of the apartment as well, and by the way that they lit up the room, they were probably illegal. Sadiq had always hated New Years and 4th of July, and all of the other holidays that seemed to require explosives, for this reason -- kids pounding their chests because the fireworks made them feel powerful. It was like a game of who's penis was larger. But who was he to judge? He once enjoyed shooting his buddies with Roman Candles as well

"Heh. Should I be offended?" He inquired mischievously, eyebrows raised while the corner of his lip turned up into a grin. It seemed an odd thing to say that he was a good kisser, because that meant that Sadiq had definitely had practice, and this "practice" wouldn't normally strike him as the most romantic of conversation. The only good it could do was bring up the topic of past relationships -- his little adventures weren't the most formidable. He didn't want to show that side of himself to Gupta

Gupta had only a split second to wonder why Sadiq would be offended (it wasn't like all of his conquests prior were a secret to anyone) but he was immediately distracted by the Turk pulled him in for another slow, deep kiss. Raw, tingling heat shot through his body and he quickly lost himself in the sensation of the other's soft lips tugging and nudging at his own. Then came that skilled, hot tongue, demanding entrance and taking exactly what it wanted

Sadiq blinked down at the boy languidly, tired yet pumping with adrenaline and energy at the same time -- a strange and dangerous combination. Heat pooled in his stomach, the fairytale butterflies fluttering about as he gazed at wet, bruised lips and wide, golden eyes. Gupta was too beautiful to be a man, so calm and classy like those delicate pieces of pottery he adored so much, and one would think the boy was just as much of a shy little flower who needed to be protected as the rest. With that needy gaze, it only took Sadiq a second to realize what the problem was, and why he was so wrong. His knee brushed against Gupta's extremities purely by accident, and everything was suddenly blatantly clear

Gupta smiled, and it was the rare, brilliant sort of smile that brought little-known dimples to his cheeks and a mischievous twinkle to his eyes. He was, quite obviously, relieved by his boyfriend's answer

He wasn't sure when the simple evening had turned into something more tense, but suddenly Sadiq cared much less about the New Years festivities and much more about Gupta. Kissing his fingers was a subtle gesture, but enticing all the same, and he knew he could have those lips do much more interesting things if he desired it. The corner of his own lips turned upwards into a smile, allowing his palm to settle against the other's cheek as his other fumbled for the TV remote, to remove that background noise that was becoming more and more unwelcome. It took him longer than it should have to find the power button, but as soon as the light flickered off for good, Sadiq couldn't help but nuzzle Gupta's neck with surprising mix of tender and playfulness

He was amazed that Sadiq had enough higher brain function to worry about the TV. No no, that won't do. Gupta was much like his mother in this aspect; if he wanted someone's attention, he darn better have it

He was worrying that his words were seeming more sappy the further they went, but by Gupta's reply, Sadiq felt that the other really didn't mind if things were a little more romantic than usual. If anything, it was a side that only Gupta would ever have the courtesy of witnessing, for which he better be thankful because it was likely not to happen anywhere else. The older man could only grin to himself as silence again filled the room, and gladly brought his tongue up the guy's exposed neck until he reached his jaw. The fact that Gupta was gingerly working at the buttons of his shirt slipped his mind up until the moment that there was an impatient tug on his sleeve and some soft words close to his ear. Sadiq pushed himself up slightly and looked down at the space between them

Sadiq was, apparently, all about tongue work, and Gupta wasn't about to complain. He shivered visibly as the Turk worked his way up his neck, worshipping the mocha skin there and tracing the edge of the boy's jaw with his hot mouth. The man's breath against his skin made goosebumps rise all over Gupta's body and he could feel a burning sort of pressure growing in his abdomen. Ra, they hadn't even done anything yet and he was already hypersensitive.

He released a soft mewl of disappointment when Sadiq pulled back, but when he blearily focused his vision on what the other was up to, every complaint he had simply died upon his lips. Oh... He had seen Sadiq half-naked before, but those instances were usually out in public or before they were dating, so he tried to avert his eyes and not bring attention to the fact that he very much wanted to stare. This time, Gupta thanked all the gods he could immediately think of for giving him the chance to really study that gorgeous chest

Sadiq was surprised to see such a reaction from Gupta; he'd never thought that certain parts of a guy were so... sensitive. Obviously there was never much experimentation on his part, letting the ladies do their thing while he in turn did his, and truth be told he didn't necessarily do much research before attempting intimacy with Gupta beforehand, mostly because he wasn't expecting it to happen so fast. Sadiq was hardly complaining, because the moan Gupta had made was entirely delicious, and he wanted nothing more than to swallow those sounds like a sweet fruit
