Someone told me it's all happening at the zoo.

Nov 24, 2010 01:51

WHO: Berwald, Tino, Peter, Raivis, Sindre, Valdi, Kai, Gupta and I suppose if someone wants to jump in it should be ok. Right?
WHEN: Tuesday, November 24th
WHERE: At the zoo
WHAT: The whole family goes to the zoo. There may or may not be gay giraffes.

Berwald and Tino had been the first to arrive at the gates of the Liberty Zoo where they were meeting the others. They'd had to take two busses from the house at New Brampton to their destination, and walk a bit to boot, so they'd decide to leave early in case there were any delays. However, they'd managed to catch an earlier bus than Berwald had expected, and therefore had to wait for the others.

The idea for the trip had been born when Berwald and Sindre had been meeting on their lunchbreak one day, and Sindre had mentioned how it would be nice to do something with Valdi, and Berwald had been reminded of the adds the zoo had been spreading all over the city about their special ticket offer on the days before thanksgiving. They would divide the cost of the tickets with the number of people in a group...so the more there were, the better.

Of course, Berwald hadn't really been thinking about that when choosing the people he asked on the trip. He mostly just wanted to spend time with people who were...family, in one way or another.
He glanced at Tino, who was currently peering through the decorative cast iron fence surrounding the zoo area. Berwald had been a bit hesitant suggesting the whole zoo expedition, fearing Tino might find it childish. However, he'd had seemed to have welcomed the break from the stress caused by his Police Acedemy application process. He even seemed quite excited about the whole thing, his eyes shining and with a spring to his step (that spring was the reason they'd caught the second bus, actually, as Tino had been marching at a pace that left even Berwald hurrying despite his longer feet)

Berwald turned away, his ears suddenly warm despite the cold weather. Tino was far too endearing like this. Not that he wasn't endearing most of the time...

His thoughts returned to the present at the arrival of Sindre and Valdi, unexpectedly trailed by a young man Berwald didn't recognize, but who turned out to be Søren's cousin, Kai. The one who was afraid of chairs. Berwald gave him a narrow eyed look from head to toe, trying to determine if his worry over the young man's mental state was justified or not. Søren had said it was nothing but...well, Berwald preferred finding out for himself.

Well, they guy seemed fairly stable at the moment, Berwald decided. Maybe he was just eccentric. He certainly looked so.

"Nice t' meet ya," Berwald muttered and gave the man's hand a firm shake.

Now they were only waiting for Peter and Raivis...
