It was a chilly and lonely night, one of the many Lili had been experiencing lately. The germanic girl had spotted this coffee shoppe while on her previous adventure a few days ago and thought she might as well give it a shot ( ... )

Sadiq smiled, taking the seat as it was offered. Her voice was soft and gentle; words gliding past her lips like a fine silk, even as she expressed her surprise. He felt that maybe he had interrupted a daydream, what with those two big green eyes blinking up at him curiously.

Folding one leg over the other, the older man thanked her and leaned back casually, eyes scanning over the small crowd of the cafe so not to stare. Even as the seasons were gradually changing, slowly slipping into October, the building remained relatively air-conditioned. Cold. With a sigh, he put his hands into the pockets of his sweater, only vaguely wishing he hadn't finished his coffee so fast. Regardless... he could risk a case of the sniffles for some friendly conversation.

"Ya hang out here often?" He started simply, being only vaguely flirtatious. If anything, Sadiq didn't like the idea of an innocent-looking girl like this wandering the city alone at this time of the day. He was a protective sort of guy, despite what a lot of people thought.

Lili directed herself towards the man, setting her coffee down on the table so as to be able to speak to him. His mask intrigued her and she started to think that he may have been a type of superhero, unable to show his secret identity...

She brushed a piece of her yellow hair behind her ear and placed her hand politely in her lap. "No, actually, this is my first time here. I saw it while walking about the city the other day...". The man's smile was friendly, warm and welcoming, making Lili feel comfortable in the cold and lonely environment.

She was looking at him with youthful curiosity, though it didn't cross his mind to think that the girl was possibly staring at his mask. He rarely even thought about the stupid thing, since it was such a part of his everyday appearance. Really, it was just another feature, like his stubbly jaw, or the casual cigarette.

Sadiq watched in amusement as the girl swept some hair behind her ear, placing her hands politely in her lap shortly after doing so. She really wasn't striking him as much of a shy sort now, but really just modest and soft-spoken. Her short exchanges were turning out to be rather cute either way, and like most brutes, Sadiq had a soft spot for cute things. To an extent. He doubted anyone could likely resist Lili's big eyes as they glanced up at you, anyway.

"Heh, I come here now and then, usually before work. Coffee doesn't really do much for me energy-wise, but I like how it tastes." He then offered his hand over the table for the girl to shake, "I'm Sadiq, by the way~ Do you have a name?"

"It is very nice to meet you Sadiq, I am Lili, Lili Zwingli." Her small hand extended across the table and into his own to complete the handshake.
She was surprised. Who knew you could randomly meet such nice people at coffee shops? She would have to come by here more often...
"I actually don't drink coffee much...I just have hot cocoa here..heh.", Lili's other hand had picked up the half-full cup to show him. Gah, and there it was. She felt her cheeks begin to tint red..This happened whenever she really got into a conversation with someone new. "Heheh.." Yep, she was getting nervous.

He wrapped his fingers around her smaller hand, shaking twice before letting go. Sadiq was totally and utterly captivated with her bright smile, and he was more than interested in seeing her more often -- perhaps for a date next time? He wasn't even shy about it. Though for the people that knew how old he was, he had a feeling that to see him with such a youthful-looking girl would be a bit of trouble.

He smiled as she presented him with her cup of cocoa, half of it's contents already gone. How could anyone not find her adorable? Even her cheeks were beginning to turn a rosy shade of red as she laughed. "Heh, I assume people call ya cute pretty often. Are you a college student around here?"

His handshake was firm, but gentle enough to not cause any strife. Her smile was still placed upon her face as she took her hand away to place next to her cocoa, while her other hand went back, gently, into her lap.
Sadiq did seem older than some of the people she had met...but then again most of the people she had met recently were girls around five feet tall...but he still had a youthful spirit to him.
"Hmm..well sometimes people say I'm cute. Like a teddy bear is cute probably...", she pondered for a moment what people meant by the compliment. "Oh! Yes, I just started at LU a few weeks ago...yeah.", school controlled Lili's life but when asked about it, she really wouldn't say much.

A teddy bear. Looking at her, Lili did somewhat remind him of a small animal, one that was easily cared for and couldn't hurt a fly if it tried. He would say that she reminded him of a kitten, but considering the fact that Sadiq hated cats, that possibility might turn him off forever. Instead he would go with a yellow lab puppy -- dogs were much better than felines.

"Cute might be a little modest~ I'd say ya resemble a doll more than a teddy bear," he mused with a smile, being vague with his compliments for the moment. She didn't seem to be catching on so fast anyway, and that was just fine with him. "Oh right, school did just start up again, didn't it? Whatcha goin' for?"

Just don't be a freshman. Please. College alone was already bad enough.

She guessed he was right. A doll was a bit more appropriate seeing as a doll actually looked like a person, and not a bear.

"Yeah, you're right. I don't really look much like a bear...", her head tilted to the side with the thought. Sadiq sure was nice. Probably one of the nicest she had met since coming back from Liechtenstien. It was great having someone like that to talk to, even if it was just random. The conversation had calmed her stressed out mind.

"I really love photography, and I'm taking a class for it. I'm pretty sure that's what I want to major in. It would be great to be able to take portraits of people, and families..." After staring aimlessly at her drink her gaze made it's way back to Sadiq with a smile added to it.

Ah, she was too cute! Sadiq couldn't help but chuckle as she agreed with him on the part of not appearing like a bear; how it was said in such a blissfully unaware way. Normally he might be a little offended by how a lady wasn't picking up on his flirting tactics, but Lili's voice was sweet like sugar, and he couldn't help but forgive it just this once. It was so rare to find someone that didn't annoy the shit out of him at first sight.

"Photography? That's pretty sweet~" He returned with a genuine smile, folding his hands on top of the table. "I wouldn't mind seeing your work. D'ya model at all? I bet lots'a people are hoarding around wanting to take your picture, eh?"

With a cliche thinking pose, Lili put her finger to her mouth and looked up with her head already tilted just the slightest bit to the side. Did the camera usually get turned on her? She could remember a few times.

"P-people like to take pictures with me in them. Especially pinching my cheeks and stuff...but I really don't mind. A picture is a picture!" Her bashful smile stayed in it's place as she folded her hands politely on the table, delicately copying what Sadiq had done.

"U-um...you would probably be really..kinda cool in a picture. Especially with your mask. It's just s-so cool looking." Lili had no idea why it was so hard to say that. She had always had a difficult time telling people how they would look as a model in a photo...

The thought of people pinching Lili's cheeks for a good picture sent Sadiq into another fit of laughter, and he even went so far as to curl a fist in front of his mouth to stop himself from disturbing the other occupants. Young or not, this girl had definitely captured Sadiq's interest. Of course, he had no idea how to go about asking her on a date, since most of his comments had been taken so lightly. "I bet your photos turn out stunning ( ... )

Shaking her head to get the hair out of her face only resulted in getting more there. It didn't bother her enough to move it herself, but it was a bit annoying. Her eyes smiled with a sparkle when Sadiq commented on her photography. That was always good for her to hear. "Hehe..thank you."

The question about the park made Lili think. She had met many people at the park, and had spent some of her best times in America there. But the prelude about doing something again was what had stopped her train of thought. She of course spoke before she completely register everything.

"I love the park. Sometimes, I go there alone and just take pictures of all the happy people and their families. It would be cool to have someone with me there for once."

"You're welcome," he returned with a grin, casually resting his cheek in the palm of his hand. It was hard not to smile when his offer was so cheerfully accepted, meaning they were one step closer to a date. If he could be around her charming smile all day, away from the negativity of most of the people he knew, Sadiq would be one happy man.

"It'll be a date then...?" His words came out carefully, wanting to make sure they were both on the right track here. Sadiq was very much eager to find himself a new girlfriend, as opposed to just a friend. "Ah, only if you're already without a boyfriend right now~"

A boyfriend? Lili was confused. She had never exactly had a boyfriend before...which she assumed was pretty sad based on how old she was now. The only man she had love for was her adopted brother, Vash. She did not necessarily understand the customs of asking people out, making her confused about what Sadiq was beginning to get at.

"No, I've never had a boyfriend before...", Lili admitted somewhat quietly and bashfully. "So...uh, you mean like a date date then...like boys and girls usually do?" It had finally hit her that she was terrible at talking about this stuff. "Bah, I'm sorry, I'm not exactly good at this." Lili hid her face in her hands as her cheeks had reached their peek of redness.

"Yeah, I guess~ What other kinda dates are there? Boys and girls, girls and girls, boys with girls with boys... Mix and match," he returned, unconsciously leaving out the boys and boys option because gay wasn't a part of his vocabulary, unless used in spite. Lili's flustered face reminded him of artwork, though she was almost boyish in a way. Somehow, the rare artistic side of his mind was surfacing through his interaction with Lili, whom looked like she belonged on canvas. Really though, Sadiq wasn't sure if he should feel guilty for making her bashful from the prospect of a date, or totally amused at her innocence.

"Heh, well if you're not comfortable, then tell me to fuck off." It was sincere at least. "But I really wouldn't mind seeing ya again at some point."
