WHO: The newlyweds and the wedding guests.
WHEN: September 2nd, Thursday.
WHERE: Berwald's house.
WHAT: Peter and Raivis' wedding. What else.
On the very momentous day that was Peter's birthday and his wedding day, the backyard of Berwald's house had been transformed into a simple but elegant location. Plastic chairs, wrapped in lavender tulle and tied with white ribbons, lined the yard in rows. An arch that Berwald built stood proudly with bright roses and luscious vines decorated all about. A video camera captured the occasion in the corner.
Peter stood off to the side of the arch with Conner behind him. Berwald stood in front of the arch as the officiant of the ceremony. When the clock struck 11:00 am, Wedding March played from speakers hooked to an ipod hidden somewhere. Peter's heart skipped a beat when Raivis was walked down the aisle by Toris. Peter had to look at Conner to earn an assuring look that he was not dreaming. It was all real. It was all happening.
With Raivis and Toris in position, Berwald beckoned Dewi to step forward. The Welshman recited
a Shakespeare sonnet for the couples with only the theatrical talent that an Ainsworth possessed.
After the sonnet, Berwald gave a few words on the significance of marriage. When it seemed all Berwald could muster out was mumbling, he stopped short and proceeded with the wedding vow. "I do" was said loud and proud by Peter, whereas Raivis' answer was softer and sweeter.
Flower-Egg, with a few nudges from Tino, carried the ring box to the couples. Peter unlatched the box from the collar, and Flower-Egg hurried back to Tino's side. Peter and Raivis exchanged their
wedding rings, each wearing the biggest grin on their face.
With rings exchanged, Berwald pronounced them married. The couples leaned to each other and locked lips; their first kiss as an officially-finally married couple, accompanied by the applause of the guests.
At the reception, Conner read a lovely toast before he hurried off to hide his embarrassment. Peter and Raivis cut the cake. Of course, Peter, being Peter, had to smear the cake all over Raivis' mouth (which he later discreetly licked clean). Once everyone had congratulated the couples individually over delicious wedding cake, it was time to throw the bouquet. Yes, there was a bouquet. Yes, Peter was making Raivis throw it.
Trembling as always, Raivis closed his eyes and threw the bouquet. The flowers fluttered through the air and landed unsuspectingly in a frightened Tino's hands. Peter and Raivis snickered, while Berwald shied out of sight.
Dewi then took command of the reception with a microphone. Acoustically, he serenaded the couples with a darling
song. Peter and Raivis danced their first dance to Dewi's voice. Peter, not being trained in ballroom dancing, mostly just shuffled left and right with Raivis tight in his arms. The newlyweds intertwined their fingers and locked lips, commencing the start of a brand new shared life.
"Es tevi milu."
"I love you too."
[ooc: So, this will work in the style of the rooftop concert. Simply write up your personal post of what you did at the wedding and the reception, who you talked to, did you cry or get drunk and pick a fight and get kicked out. Oh! Mention what gifts you got them. Have fun, guys. Thanks for coming~ |D]
