Emi had been in the middle of, well, nothing, really. She had been allowed a lighter workload due to her injuries and with the lunch rush slowing down, there was little to do. And having little to do meant no Roma, no annoying customers to deal with, and no tables to wipe clean at the moment.
And for that, she was happy.
That is, until she found herself with paper - a job application? - waving in front of her face. Jerking back and with a furrowed brow, Emi stared at the application before turning to stare at the woman, no, girl that had addressed her. Why was she talking to her? Shouldn't she be talk to-? Well, fuck. She was busy.
Fighting back a frown, Emi took the application from the girl's hold and looked it over. Why was this half of it empty...? Maybe her English just wasn't all that great-?
"Oiga, se le olvidó llenar estas preguntas. ¿Necesita ayuda?"
{OOC translation: "Hey/listen, you forgot to fill out these questions. Do you need help?"}
Sorry for the wait- Feliciano kind of sucked up my attention. OTLmas_valorJuly 10 2010, 10:20:09 UTC
Valen laughed nervously and waved her hand, as if she could shoo away the questions like dust in the air.
"¿Quéeee? No, no me olvidé, no," she declined the offer with a (what she hoped to be) charming smile and shook her head, just to make her refusal perfectly clear. "No necesito ayuda, sólo un trabajo."
(1. Whaaaat? No, I didn't forget, no. I don't need help, just a job.
I should be the one apologizing. orzsalylimonJuly 17 2010, 03:36:36 UTC
"Bueno, puedo ver que usted necesita un trabajo," Emi began, fighting back the urge to sigh in exasperation. "Pero la contratación no será fácil si usted no puede llenar toda la aplicación."
Skimming through the application once more, she circled one of the answered questions with the tip of her finger. "Aquí. Is there a reason you left this question blank?" Emi asked, eyebrow raised as she stared at the younger girl.
{"Well, I can see that you need a job. However, hiring you won't be simple if you can't fill out the entire application."}
\o/ We both fail so it's fine, hahah~*~*~!mas_valorJuly 18 2010, 22:29:05 UTC
Valen leaned forward a little to see where she was pointing, her eyes flickering across the question briefly.
What is your current residence?
"Ah, sí, sí, claro que sí! I just not wanting any trash mail sent to my house," she explained with a, rather nervous sounding, laugh. "You know how this is. Put your address in and get strange things."
If Emi didn't know any better, she would have sworn that she was back home, trying to help one of her recently immigrated relatives score a job. Que buena suerte.
With a sigh, she motioned to the back of the restaurant. "C'mon, let's go to the break room so you can finish filling out the application. ¿Necesita una pluma?" Emi asked as she reluctantly led the way to small, and luckily empty, room.
"...no la necesito." Valen was a little wary, following this woman down a narrow, dark hall. She could be a serial killer, or a lesbian rapist, or something so unimaginably horrifying that not even Stephen King could have written that shit. It certainly didn't help her speculations when she found that she had been led into a dingy little concrete room with water-stained walls and a single table in the middle.
It looked like an interrogation room. She watched the woman close the door behind them with suspicious eyes narrowed into slits.
"Why we are here?" she asked warily, leaning on the table with one hand. She didn't dare sit. Not just yet anyway.
...jeez, if you wanted Emi to badtouch her, you could've just asked.salylimonJuly 22 2010, 08:01:13 UTC
Turning around, Emi noticed the suspicious stare being thrown her. Oh, for fuck's sake. "Jesus Christ, calm down." She muttered before plopping herself down on the small couch by the table.
"It's too noisy out there and I doubt you want people listening in on your business, ¿verdad que si?"
Still seeing the suspicious glare and tensed posture, Emi rolled her eyes. "Siéntate. But if you want, open the door. I don't really care as long as we get this done, okay?"
"Now, I personally don't care, but, citizenship. We kind of need you to fill out that question on the application, Miss..." A quick glance at the paper. "Miss Artigas."
NO DIGAS MENTIRAS.salylimonJuly 23 2010, 00:29:22 UTC
...oh, that was just nice.
Frowning slightly, Emi reclined back as she dropped the application on top of the table. "It expired, huh?" She asked, rubbing her forehead.
"You know, I technically can't hire you if you're here without documentation. Pero..."
What Roma didn't know, wouldn't hurt him. And if it did, well, he was a shady man to begin with so like hell if Emi gave a rat's ass about his well-being.
;^; NO SOY MENTIROSA... just a li'l...mas_valorJuly 24 2010, 20:39:56 UTC
"Pero...?" Valen prompted hopefully, leaning forward from her spot on the table. This wasn't exactly the first time she'd weaseled her way into some illegal labor, and it certainly wouldn't be the last.
"Don't worry, don't worry, I get it renew soon, few months maybe, but I get it renew," she lied to reassure her, her tone casual and a charming, boyish grin pasted on her face.
Finger tapping against her bottom lip in thought, Emi remained silent for a moment before smiling brightly at the hopeful teen as she rambled on.
"Pues, if that's the case, I don't see what the problem is." Her smile grew as she stood up, extending her hand towards the young woman. "Let me get this signed off by my boss' assistant, and you're good to go, querida."
:,D So, is this the end~?mas_valorJuly 26 2010, 21:19:07 UTC
...that was it? She was in!? This chick actually bought that-?
"Opa!" Valen whooped and hopped down from the table, grabbing the offered hand between both of her own and giving it a rather... enthusiastic shake. "Do not worry, I work hard! You will not regretting this!"

Pulling her hand away from the girl's surprisingly firm grip, Emi smiled and handed her back the application as she stood up. "Just give this to Ms. Helena's assistant and get it approved. She's, uh, distracted right now so it won't be a problem."
Emi paused at the door before casting the girl a bemused grin.
"No te creo. About the visa, I mean. But good luck. Si usted me disculpa, I have to get back to work."
And for that, she was happy.

Accented English.
Bullshit lies.
Questions about citizenship left blank.
