Heeey beautiful, fancy meeting you here~pride_of_kiwiMay 20 2010, 21:41:36 UTC
A big, grinning elastic personality that charged one out of nowhere and accosted one for information while one was still dazedly wondering where the hell the human tornado had come from.
Usually.
John wasn't nervous, really, not so much as he was curious. And yes, while the sun seemed a tad too bright to his left eye and yes, he did have a headache that made him take his stride a bit more casually, when he spotted a lone young woman stationed outside the aquarium looking somewhat introspective, it was absolutely nothing in the wake of an exploding enthusiasm.
He was on her like a puppy on a cooing child, flinging his arms wide despite the kink in his neck protesting, laughing vibrantly despite the dull throb in his skull. "Remy! Good t'see ya at last!"
She laughed and gave the big guy a squeeze in return. “Hey, there.” There was no need to ask who he was, though she did have to wonder how he knew that a big bear-hug was the fastest and easiest way to her heart.
This was already infinitely better than the other two times she’d met a long-lost sibling. No flying Jell-o and smug ‘friends,’ no playing dumb and exploding backpacks, and somehow, going straight for the hug had completely skipped over all of the awkward fussing. She found herself loving the guy already. That was definitely big-brother material.
Thanks for putting up with me, sis. <3pride_of_kiwiJune 6 2010, 06:46:47 UTC
If Remy was finding the meeting a relief after intensely anxious expectation, John was equally as enamored with how easily they bypassed Stage One, 'Awkward Reuinion'. Her return embrace was strong and tight, impressively bold for a Kirkland- even John Paul, boisterous as he was, had issues connecting to people on more intimate levels, but here was this girl, radiating a confidence that seemed to surpass even his own, smiling brighter than the sun.
She was a beautiful young woman and he could see the parts of her that hinted at their shared heritage. The nose- which he tapped affectionately, the eyes, the hair- that he ruffled with a hearty laugh. "Well now! You ready to see some fishes, or are we going to be squeezing the life out of each other all day?"
Finally getting this done. Skipping the Microsoft Word step, though, so excuse any typos.remyleeJune 18 2010, 00:36:27 UTC
She giggled, face scrunching up at the light tap and playful ruffling, easily as impressed with him as he was with her. He'd managed to jump from the 'complete stranger' classification to that of 'favorite big brother' in under a minute. Even Dewi, with his love of musicals, had taken an entire class period to earn that.
Even though squeezing the life out of each other was fun, and definitely something she'd wind up doing again next time she saw him, they did have a plan for the day. She grinned up at him. "Let's go scare some fish."
