LOVE concerts...
well i just found out that my lil cuz went to his first two concerts this month, the first being lil wayne (meh) and the second being saving abel, hinder, and nickelback which rock concerts are definitely better. and he totally loved it which makes me happy.
so far this summer i've gone to see tool, mayhem fest: killswitch engage, bullet for my valentine, all that remains, trivium, god forbid, job for a cowboy, slayer, marilyn manson, black dahlia murder, mushroomhead, the behemoth, white chapel, and cannibal corpse, and eli young band with casey donahew.
this past friday night i went to the nutty brown cafe for the eli young band concert. i was kinda worried that it wouldn't be too much fun going by myself, but it turned out to be pretty epic. i really wanted to see them anyways because i LOVE them. casey donahew played first and I know my brother likes his music but i hadn't really listened to him before. he was really good and i'll definitely look into getting some of his music. he had a black drummer in his band, and he was like "you know how if you wanna play in texas you gotta have a fiddle in the band? well i have a fiddle, but i think it should be changed to if you wanna play in texas you gotta have a brother in the band!" haha so silly. eli young band did not disappoint me, they played ALL my favorite songs which is amazing because i have like 10 haha plus they played a few that i was like omg that's an amazing song and i can't wait to go buy the cd its on. one of those song's was "everything is you"

the "what did i do wrong, nothing, i treated you like an angel" is my favorite line of that song, just a great overall song.
the best part of the concert was that it was raining. it actually had been POURING alllll day. i called up there to ensure that they were still having the concert and the lady said it was dry there. weird, but ok. so i drove through the pouring rain and flooded streets out to the country part of HW 71 to a cute lil venue called the nutty brown cafe. unfortunately, it was naturally shaded by and basically in the middle of a grove of oak trees so my allergies were all crazy the next morning. but being out in the country was a nice venue. the stage was covered but the standing area wasn't, and it sort of sprinkled off and on during casey donahew and the beginning of eli young. then it was completely clear for about 45 minutes. mike eli played a few chords to introduce the next song, and the rain started picking up. he was like "is this really happening?" because we all recognized that those few chords were to "when it rains". everyone got amped up on sort of a natural high. having hundreds of people dancing in the rain and singing "when it rains" at the top of their lungs not caring about the mud or water was amazing to say the least. about 30 seconds after the song ended, he began transitioning to the next song and the rain stopped. it never rained that hard before the song and it never rained that hard again after the song. super cool. i got to hear guinevere, jet black and jealous, when it rains, always the love songs, enough is enough, throw and go, mystery in the making, small town kid, everything is you, and guardian angel performed live and it just made my night. on the way back to my car, the drunk dude that had been standing near me with his buddy was stumbling to his car and definitely faceplanted and rolled into a ditch. not gonna lie, i laughed pretty hard. he eventually corrected himself, and i was walking by at this point and he grabbed my shoulder and was like "I FELL IN STICKERS!" so i just laughed and kept walking to my car and from behind me i hear "someone get this cactus outta my ass!" hahaha silly boy.
the weirdest thing was that i was jammin rap on the way to the concert and as soon as i left the concert gettin all amped up. i guess i'm just a weirdo like that.
i headed over to the boys afterwards and watched a few episodes of the office with them. but my adrenaline from the concert wore out quickly and i decided to go home to get some sleep. i walked out of their apt and it was POURING again. so i got to sorta dance through 3-4 inches of water to get back to my car. now, ever since i was little, something about rain just makes me all playful. so i was so excited that i got to play in the rain for that short time going to and from my car that i got on xbox and talked to blake and twisted til 5 in the morning when i got back home.
today, i went to chili's with paul and dunsmore, and then went over to the boy's apt to watch the UT game and brooke and joseph came over. we won 41-10 because we're awesome :) can't wait for the game against texas tech next week, it's a home game so i'll get to be there :) ALSO brooke and i are going to concordia earlier that day bc they're playing mcmurray and we wanna see mandie play :) after the game, we got boooored, so danny, dondo, and i went outside and played in the shallow lake that had formed outside their apartment. then we decided it was time for a walmart adventure, so i bought apples to apples! when we got back, brooke and joseph were back again and we played some spades and apples to apples and got our drink on.
tomorrow's gonna have to be a homework day because i don't want to end up struggling to catch up like i did last week.
