“I need to sleep, like you say, and I can’t risk being seen leaving here in the morning, now can I?” David winced at the harsh, cold tone that spiked Nick’s usual warm voice.
“Look I’m sorry, I just forgot myself for a moment there.” Nick shook his head, causing David to frown in puzzlement.
“No... You didn’t forget yourself there, you know exactly who you are, and day by day I’m finding out too, the hard way.” He wrapped his fingers around the cool metal of the door handle, his eyes remained firmly fixed on David’s. “I’ve got things to think about, I’ll see you at some point tomorrow, David.” Nick stepped over the threshold into the darkness; all David could do was watch on as Nick left him stood alone in the hall, his emotions confused and in tatters. Nick walked briskly through the garden and made his way towards the security gates, where he swiped his card, unaware that David’s eyes weren’t the last pair to see him leave Downing Street.

I want to shake some sense into Danny and possibly, maybe, slap George for what he's trying to do then give him a lecture.
