Unprompted Gordon/Sarah: "Birthdays", 1/2 anonymous January 8 2011, 09:45:43 UTC
Yes, I'm on a Gordon and Sarah kick and it's pretty unquenchable.

A companion piece to Intermezzo (original link here: http://lolitics-meme.livejournal.com/5715.html?thread=10946387#t10946387) An AU in which it's GB's birthday and Sarah is pregnant. While we're on the subject of adorable babies...

*~*~*

She couldn’t believe that Gordon had just turned sixty. It seemed only yesterday that he had been that adorably shy man with the black hair and the velvet voice; whom she had flown with on that plane, whom she had woken with a kiss after many a day when he’d fallen asleep at his desk with a stack of books for a pillow.
His voice was still deep and sumptuous, though his hair was now grey. But his eyes were those of a man half his age-possibly even a third his age. For he was doing what kept him young, what he loved most in the world: spinning John around in a circle and hoisting Fraser up on his shoulders, and enfolding her-and their youngest-- in his strong, warm arms.
He found that the best birthday present ever, even if it had not yet arrived. But it was only a matter of weeks now… possibly even a matter of days.

She was pushing fifty, so this most likely would be her last time; so she wanted to savor every little sensation she found pleasant. The heaviness of her belly that turned sensual and relaxing under the touch of his hands, the ache in her breasts that he was all too happy to relieve with eager hands and lips, the calm wavelike motions of the waters inside her.
That last one was particularly rare: this baby had to be the most energetic one on the planet. Impatient to get out, or simply curious about the outer world, she didn’t know. But boy, could she kick, as if she were making up for all the missing chops her brothers hadn’t landed.
She. It had been just before Christmas when Sarah found out she was indeed carrying a girl; and in between her lofty euphoria, and Gordon’s shouts of joy and whirling her around the room in a rapturous dance they would stop, stand very still and gaze up at the sky in silence.
Up at Jennifer, reassuring them that this time, it will be all right.

The boys sure loved to feel her kick; it meant she’d keep up quite handily as their new playmate. “She’s gonna be a footballer!” said Fraser happily; and John added, a bit ruefully: “She’s gonna beat us at football.”
Gordon, of course, looked happiest and proudest of all.

Lovemaking was different now; slower and more careful; but never had Sarah felt more worshipped. Never had he paid such close and reverent attention to every square inch of her, never had she found so many new pleasure zones.
His hands were talons in the floaty fabric of her nightgown; the feathery hair on his chest was soft and tickly against her lips. She swallowed him and sucked until inside her mouth he grew warm and taut, the throbbing between her legs growing unbearable and not abating until he flipped them around and buried himself upward inside her. She orgasmed immediately at the delicious friction of him, heat and velvet and that wonderful pressure against her walls; and it seemed with each stroke of his she exploded a little, molecules of air forming electric charges against her skin until he poured his heat deep inside her and he whispered “Achtland” in her ear as he eased her down.

She rolled over onto her back, still dizzy in her afterglow, and felt him rest his head against her belly as it came to her. Achtland, the Celtic goddess of love, wanton love at that. And how wanton she must have looked to him, how much like a wild and fertile Earth goddess with her swollen belly and her hair flying about her shoulders and her skin lush and rosy… at all of her so completely abandoned to passion.
“She has such a strong heartbeat,” he said, equal parts adoring and approving; and she couldn’t resist running her fingers through his hair.
They hadn’t picked out a name for her yet. There were just so many names that meant “love”-Amy? Esme? Mina? Amanda?-that it was a monumental task just deciding which one; but both of them knew she had to be named for love, for that was the circumstance in which she was created: during a paradise of passionate desire that went on for days.
(Gordon had once rather wickedly suggested “Venus Desirée”, and she had laughed as she declined, before kissing him senseless. And calling her any of the frothy, munificent names of the great love goddesses brought to Sarah’s mind too many images of her daughter growing up to be another Tonks; a happy girl, to be sure; but always having to exasperatedly remind people, “Don’t call me Aphrodite/Freya/Inanna!”)

Another kick, and her husband lifted his head. “She never tires out, does she?”
“I guess not.”
He pulled up level with her and curled on his side against her body, hand moving in circles against her belly, attempting to calm and soothe their little firecracker. At that moment, the wall clock struck midnight.
“Well, she’s not going to have the same birthday as you,” said Sarah.
Gordon was silent for a moment. “She’s still the best gift you’ve ever given me,” he finally said, against her neck.
She turned toward him and gazed into his glowing grey eyes. “I love you,” she whispered; and he answered back with a fervent kiss, hands buried deep in her hair. Then he bent down and kissed their daughter over Sarah’s navel, before pulling the blankets over their bodies and coming up for another, softer, sweeter kiss.

THE END
