(this has been cross-posted to my personal journal as well)
To Whom It May Concern-
I knew people were skeptical about my Lolitamod concept, but I didn't realize that today I would be bashed about it in a most vulgar manner, in my personal journal, by a user I did not even know at all on LiveJournal. That user's account was deleted/suspended by the time I logged on today, so I am guessing that their activities were not limited to my journal. I am not going to elaborate on the contents of the dozen postings they left on my previous entry, but I can tell you that they were, by any standard, extremely crude. For the record: 'Lolitamod' is very much a fashion experiment and anyone that has ideas and designs of their own about it and want to contribute is more than welcome to. I am not trying to ruin the fabric (pun very much intended) of Gothic & Lolita; it is a fashion that I have loved and appreciated for years, from a culture that I admire for more than I can possibly name in this post. Same goes for Mod and British culture. Because both cultures are so beloved to me, the bulk of my intent was to find a way to marry the best bits of their unique styles together and create something both new and interesting. Some people will love it, some will like it, some will not care, and some will hate it; that is the case with basically every concept under the sun, especially new ones.
I just wish I could better understand why someone would choose this bizarre route over articulating their feelings, especially as I have clearly represented Lolitamod as an idea to be developed, currently in the smallest of stages, and not at all an irrefutable, on-coming fashion trend. As such, it is one that I desired constructive critique on, and assistance from those who found it as exciting a concept as I have, by posting about it in egl and creating a community around it. In no way do I mean for this to infringe upon anyone else's views, fashion, and lifestyle regarding Gothic & Lolita or Mod, and I hope I have not presented it as such.
I have been a LiveJournal user since November of last year, reading community posts, and just recently contributing more myself. I think LJ is an incredible place to sharing ideas, pictures, stories, and much more, as well as for making connections with other users, which I have absolutely found in the short time that I have been a more active participant in various communities. Though I have not used my own personal journal much, it was just recently a target, and I feel I have to post this here. It would not have happened had I switched Comments ---> 'Friends Only', which now has been done.
I have done my best present the content I have generated here with good intentions, and have been friendly towards fellow users, and will absolutely continue to do so.
