NaNo of epic proportions!

So a bit more on NaNo this year, which should be pretty interesting.

First, I'm re-writing my novel from last year, "Icarus".
This will definitely be my first time ever re-writing during NaNoWriMo, but after a year of these characters bugging me to improve the story I have to appease them.

The synopsis in a sentence: A young woman with amnesia finds herself in trouble when she tries to uncover what happened to her and her father, a famous inventor.

For those who had not gotten the spiel last year, the story is inspired by the Greek myth of Icarus and Daedalus with a Steampunk (sci-fi meets Victoriana) setting.
It starts after they've fled Minos' city and Icarus has his classic fall. But in my version, Icarus didn't die--she ends up being saved and is living in a workhouse with little memory of what happened [yeah he's a girl in my version]. I know what some folks are going to say ("amnesia... how cliche!"), but I'll try my best to use my psychology studies to do it the right way and completely avoid any of that "who am I?", bump on the head suddenly back to normal or memory flooding back because of one word schlock.

Secondly, I'm going for 100k+. Yes, I am absolutely determined to do it. I mean last year I got to 90k, so it's not a super stretch. And I wanna get to 50k way before Thanksgiving, but we'll see how that goes.

Thirdly, I may be writing two stories to reach that 100k (or not, because sometimes you write a lot then edit later). It will either be the first two books of the "Icarus" series or two different stories. If I did two different stories, the second story would be far less serious and silly, just for the sake of flying by the seat of my pants [a romantic comedy most likely with a thief masquerading as a hero picks up a barmaid who's sick of her job].

So yeah...that's it for now. Don't have many days left, so I'm working hard to make sure I start on time for once.
