So Halloween is tomorrow. NaNo is the day after...and I am wringing my little hands in nervousness at their hasty approach.
Oh if only I had a time machine, I would go back in time and tell myself to work on my projects earlier...of course I will probably ignore my warning, because otherwise I wouldn't have a reason to build a time machine to go back and tell myself to work on my projects earlier, which I will probably ignore...
Sorry about that.
So costume wise, I have a few costumes, but none are work appropriate. Tia Dalma is a bit revealing uptop and way too much on the bottom. The Quidditch robes are awesome, but well I don't want people to think I'm a dork. As for the first steampunk outfit, the blouse has been a bit wonky and needed safety pins to keep it from reopening. And the costume I was working on, needs far too much to be complete by tomorrow.
So I have a couple choices:
1. Create a very quick pair of green spats and underbust to wear with the blouse and skirt I have.
2. Create spats, find/buy a vest and wear those with the pants and blouse I have already.
3. Stop attempting to dress "steamy" to work and go as Bettie Page/girl from the 50s instead.
Number 1 and 2 are ideal because I can wear something that is obviously a costume, but that means more work and less time--more late nights. If I do 3, it'll be more low key, but it won't really look like a costume. All else fails, I can put on my elf ears and be whimsical and some such.
How does a girl with so many costume remnants not have an outfit for Halloween at work? Beats me.
Costume dilemma aside, I don't really have any plans for the grand H-day besides work. So I would like to dress up for that at least. I may go out with friends, but if not, I plan to stay home, watch movies and prep for NaNo/taking crazy photos/make steampunk props.
All in all, it's going to be an interesting 2 days.
