Crap
So... umm... what's the worst thing that could possibly happen while your home alone when your parents are on vacation (besides being robbed a la Home Alone or being murdered)? Umm... having your house flooded...
I chilled all morning after Jesse and Brady left, just watching some TV and fooling around on the computer. I decided at about 3 to give into my brain and force myself to shower. While I'm sudsing up, Ami starts barking hysterically. I cooed and said "Oh AmiAmi, I'm right here, it's okay." She wouldn't stop barking, so I came to the conclusion that there was a robber downstairs that had already taken out Chewy, and Ami was too squiggly for him to catch, giving her a chance to alert her stupid owner who was singing in the shower... So with my shower still going and shampoo in my hair, I checked out the stairs, and Ami was just chilling on one of the steps... So I said "Meh." and got back in the shower.
About ten minutes later I was dressed and walked downstairs. I saw little doggie water footprints ever, and then saw a pool around the dog's water bowl. I assumed that Chewy, being the hunkering kinda guy that he is, had knocked it over. Then I noticed that the water went into the kitchen, down the hall, and into the dining room. I opened the bathroom door, and a rush of water streamed out. Everything was soaked.
I ran upstairs to grab all the towels we had, and ran back down... After I ran out of dry towels, there was still a substantial amount of water on the floor. I opened the basement door to grab the mop, which hangs right inside the door... and I see water at the bottom of the stairs. Swearing excessively, I came to discover that half the basement floor was coated in water as well. Luckily, though, the floor is concrete, and cannot be destroyed by water stains... Unlike my now multi-colored kitchen floor.
Sooo... yea... I called the plumber and he gave me some tips on clean up, but told me that nothing can be done until monday, and even then nothing can be done unless a parent is present...
And I can't reach my parents. My mother is on a plane coming home and my father isn't answering his cell..
