What I Watch
I was picked to be a Neilson household for last week then I saw this meme and I was inspired.
30 things I think about tv shows. . .
Minute 01 - A show that never should have been canceled
Firefly. Don't even have to think about it.
Minute 02 - A show that you wish more people were watching
Hmm. That's tough because I'm not sure what's been cancelled with season or not. I guess Supernatural because I don't personally know anyone else who watches it so I have to get other people's reactions online.
Minute 03 - Your favorite new show (aired this TV season)
Justified. I think that might be the only new show I've picked up this season.
Minute 04 - Your favorite show ever
The Simpsons. Which is quite strange since it's one of the only comedy's that I like and I think it has as many mediocre seasons as good ones. But for me seasons 3-9 are some of the best television ever made.
Minute 05 - A show you hate
Anything that starts with: The Real Housewives of. . . and pretty much any other reality show with exceptions for cooking shows and Project Runway.
Minute 06 - Favorite episode of your favorite TV show
Probably Selma's Choice the episode where Great Aunt Gladys dies and Selma decides she wants to have kids so she takes Bart and Lisa to Duff Gardens, since Homer got food poisoning from eating a bad sandwich (who he can't stay made at).
Minute 07 - Least favorite episode of your favorite TV show
I don't even know how to answer that. There are whole seasons that I stopped watching because they were bad.
Minute 08 - A show everyone should watch
Right now I think everyone should be watching Burn Notice because Bruce Campbell + spy/MacGyver = awesome!
Minute 09 - Best scene ever
That is a totally impossible question. I'd probably pick something funny and irrevent from Buffy, like Spike's "For Christmas and Puppies" speech or when the fear demon appears and it's actual size.
Minute 10 - A show you thought you wouldn't like but ended up loving
This is tough. Probably The West Wing which my mom told me for years to watch but I refused then ended up totally loving.
Minute 11 - A show that disappointed you
Studio 60 or Dollhouse. I had such high hopes for both of them because of their respective casts and creators and was very let down.
Minute 12 - An episode you've watched more than 5 times
The Wedding episode of Home Movies. Which might possibly be one of the funniest shows ever and I haven't mentioned it yet.
Minute 13 - Favorite childhood show
Jem. Because she's excitement, glamor, and glitter, fashion and fame.
Minute 14 - Favorite male character
Mr. Burns.
Minute 15 - Favorite female character
Cordelia Chase
Minute 16 - Your guilty pleasure show
Probably Criminal Minds. I know its a silly procedural but I like it anyway. I totally have a crush on Dr. Reid.
Minute 17 - Favorite mini series
Band of Brothers. Makes me cry every time. Plus I can't watch just one and I always end up staying up super late and watching the whole thing.
Minute 18 - Favorite title sequence
Of all time? Totally Gilligan's Island. A show that's on now? Law and Order. I just love the music for it and the slo-mo walking they always have at the end. I'm a sucker for slo-mo walking.
Minute 19 - Best TV show cast
If I'm limiting myself to shows on now, which I probably should, I'd say LOST.
Minute 20 - Favorite kiss
Cordy and Xander's first kiss. Hilarious.
Minute 21 - Favorite 'ship
I'm generally not a 'shipper. Mostly because I hate the idea that TV (and fandom) seems to perpetuate that men and women can't work/be/live near/interact with each other without some sexual tension/will they won't they crapballs. That said I'm gonna go with Sun/Jin.
Minute 22 - Favorite series finale
Buffy. Hands down.
Minute 23 - Most annoying character
Ben from LOST. I frickin' hate him! And not in a he's-a-good-villain-I'm-supposed-to-hate-him kind of way, but in a I-hate-the-sound-of-his-voice-and-want-to-punch-him-in-the-face kind of way.
Minute 24 - Best quote
"Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. So the lesson is: never try." Homer Simpson
Minute 25 - A show you plan on watching (old or new)
Friends have been telling me to watch Human Target and since it's probably going to be canceled I'll probably give it a whirl with summer if I can find it online.
Minute 26 - OMG WTF? Season finale
As in bad? The last Dr. Who finale. Horrible!!! Why did they do that? I know Tennant was leaving but they didn't need to totally change his character like that at the very end. 10 was better than that, and deserved better than that. Boo.
Minute 27 - Best pilot episode
Not the best but I liked the pilot for Leverage.
Minute 28 - First TV show obsession
Buffy. I watched it every week and in college it was the first fandom I ever read.
Minute 29 - Current TV show obsession
Supernatural and LOST.
Minute 30 - Saddest character death
The only one that has ever really made me cry was Leo on the West Wing because I knew that the actor died for real and that made it so much more sad.
