Vid Notes
: This vid has been a strange pleasure to make, and a new experience--my first time vidding to a deadline, and to a story (a very different experience!) Storylandqueen's story was inspiring on so many levels, and I wished I could clip the scenes that played across my mind as I read, so that I could truly depict the story's narrative in this vid. But I had to satisfy myself with capturing some of what I walked away from in the story--a new understanding of Sherlock, his history, his relationship with his family, his ambivalence about social bonds, and his investment in John. To get there, I used two additional source texts: the film Joshua (which I discovered thanks to kiki_miserychic) and one of my very favorite movies of all times, Antonioni's unforgettable The Red Desert. A little intimidating to vid Antonioni, but I'm so glad I decided to go for it. Hopefully all the different pieces come together to form a whole, and a whole that speaks in part to Storylandqueen's beautiful fic. If nothing else, I hope this vid entices you to check out "You Can Let Go Now" if you haven't already. This entry was originally posted at
