I know a lot of people who used to be really into music, but they aren't anymore. I will probably always be obsessed, and one of the big reasons is nights like tonight when I think nobody understands, and then I realize, Greg Dulli understands. Nina Simone understands. Joanna Newsom understands. And I remember this is why humans created art, and why they created language, and I understand that at least half of my stoicism is pride or shyness or some other equally meaningless motive.
