Think it over. Twice.

Jul 21, 2012 01:31

I tend to overthink things beyond recognition. Till the basic notion appears absurd and totally nonsense and I wonder, just why on earth would I want such a thing in first place.

Yesterday I finally managed to cash in our university book coupon (we get one each semester. If hearing that makes you envy me, consider how high the tuition fee for that very semester is.) It took me only 3 months to decide, which book I wanted to buy. I was hovering between 'Biophysics' and 'Spectroscopy'. It's a very important decision, for the evil lecture book will surely somehow manipulate my future into fitting its table of contest. (... What? Am I the only one who read 'So You Want To Be a Wizard' as a kid? :D)

The situation fed my silly head!canon of Crawford, who (on some of these days) will freeze in front of the wardrobe mirror with two ties in his hands. The first one, a decent, brownish tie with a slight golden pattern, suits his eyes and the beige suit; the other tie would be some metallic-grey fellow, which looks quite professional and cool. The first one triggers a vision of a bullet flying through its soft silk, the second one suggests a pretty high probability of a really foul outcome for today's deal.
Crawford stays still, his gaze turned into the future, the both ties hanging loose and already forgotten, for his brains is preoccupied with the different future scenarios, trying to calculate the best one... Until Schuldig will have enough of it and shoves a new tie into the Oracle hands. A lime-green specimen, which has no deadly futures attached to it at all. Because the universe is just as stunned as Crawford is and hasn't come with a nasty future-vision yet.

So, the lime-green tie it is.
So, after buying the 'Experimental Physics, volume III' my inner sceptic finally shut up :)

P.S.:
Since the book-shop was near the library archive I also borrowed the autobiography of Walter Schellenberg (yes, that one). I have a weak spot for espionage stories and due to some lately rewatched spy-films (monochrome, but oh so intense!), my interest in the topic arose once more. Let's see, what the former head of foreign intelligence has to say...

The second autobiography I got was by Mercedes de Acosta. (I actually aimed for Isodora Duncan, for I find her quite fascinating~ And no, the wiki-article doesn't do her any justice, but still for a short overview it will do.)

Fine, enough of dead people. But the mention of the de Acosty girl reminds me that it was a femshlash celebration a few days ago!  So, I highly recommend to rewatch the famous and gorgeous video of Charmax (I dislike video-embedding so just go to her LJ for online-watch, download, source-material and kudos): I'm Your Man  video.
