Week one is done. Essentially Monday and Tuesday were "orientation" where the hospital had different speakers come in from several departments. A lot of information drilled into everyone along with trying to teach us the fear of whatever legal ramifications occur if you screw up there.
The rest of the week was introducing us to the computer software they use. How to register patients, set up outpatient/inpatient accounts and how to read their stinkin insurance cards. You would think there would be some sort of continuity with how they put their information on the cards. OHP is the worst of all. PLUS I am outraged by this coverage entitled CAWEM. Something like Citizen/alien something emergency medical. It is for legal/illegal aliens so they can have emergency coverage. Shoot, if only I wasn't a citizen the past year I would have had some sort of coverage!
Anyways, my first real weekend off and today we did some weeding (Stephen is doing AWESOME at helping out!) I raked leaves and we're planting winter pansies in the front yard. Rye spent his time inside with a peanut butter stuffed kong for a pacifier until someone could be inside to watch him.
Tomorrow we're going to the beach since it is supposed be like 80-90 degrees or something. Of course it will be windy and cold still but it will give Riley a chance to run on the beach. It will be my first time having two days off in a row with Stephen and the dog.
Wedding plans are sort of on hold. I can't put a payment on my venue date until I can solidify the date with the new job. I hate asking for time off right after I start so I am waiting to see what my schedule will look like. I figure take advantage of the every other week off and plan it so its during the time of my honeymoon and just take a couple days off beforehand.
